Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

From what I've seen, it seems to take a few days for word to get out when an item goes through FCC. So, it may have passed through the end of last week and we haven't heard word yet. Or it may pass this week and we'll find out the end of the week or next week.

It'll probably pass thrpigh the FCC this week. Or it has and is being kept under wraps. Apple usually does that when they announce a device, the documents become public at the day of the announcement or shortly after.

Even Apple can't hide from the FCC.. when the docs are submitted, they are made public.. Apple just submits them when they are ready to announce..

Anyone can check the FCC Page.

On Friday Samsung had the GT-S5363 and the GT-S5570I passed through. I haven't researched the model numbers.

Yes, but I thought that the documents found on the FCC website are a few days after the authorization is granted. Could be wrong.

How 'bout you check for us everyday, on the hour? ;)

Thought about making a new thread to discuss this, but wasn't sure if it deserved its own space -

Is anyone other than me surprised at how few leaks there have been regarding this phone. Sure, we know a fair amount about what the specs may be, but in terms of physical design, we know next to nothing. With an apparent announcement due in a week, I would think we would know a little more about its form/design by now. I have to give Google/Samsung an A/A- for keeping us in the dark for so long. Thoughts?

Agreed. Makes me wonder if what we think we know is true, making it unnecessary to leak much more.

Might see pictures tomorrow during the Apple thing. Calling it right now.

I think much more is known about the iPhone 5 than the prime. There are basically real mockups of the 4S and 5 that have been reported on...tons of case leaks as well. Foxconn factory pics even came out a few days ago. If there were something similar happening with the Prime, I'd be much happier.

Plus, there isn't as much to speculate with for the iPhones. You know Apple is going to use their own processor (A5), you know it's going to be a retina screen (between 3.5-4'), and you know iOS is boring as all hell. They've also stuck to the same basic form for the past 4 models...and while that may change, we know what the change would look like.

WSJ is saying that yes Sprint is getting the iPhone and are betting billions on it. But Fox is say that they'll have an exclusive iPhone 5, while AT&T and Verizon get a 4s. All pure bull , especially considering the source on that is BGR.

Back on topic though. :P

Yeah, Fox is reporting on the WSJ reporting the deal, but adding on BGR's addition - that exclusivity is part of the deal according to BGR's "source." I find BGR suspect on this addition.

So will this be a Droid? I just can't see Verizon branding this as a Droid with the Moto Bionic out roughly a month. If they do wouldn't this like "water down", the Droid branding? Just a thought

Hopefully it's a case of "This phone's so mindblowingly awesome, and I was warned that if I leak this, Google/Samsung will make my life hell" employee/accessory maker/supplier backcovering, and that the Prime's that good of a device and not "This is so underwhelming, might as well not even bother risking anything."

I think that ship has kind of already sailed, now we have:
* Droid, Droid 2, Droid 3
* Droid X, Droid X2
* Droid Incredible, Droid Incredible 2
* Droid Charge
* Droid Bionic

I'd say the name doesn't have any meaning outside of being advertised by Verizon..

Are there any Binged-up Droids?

If not:

Generic Androids: Bloat + high % chance of Bing.

Droids: Bloat - Bing

Nexus: Pure Google, no bloat, no Bing. i.e. Prime

Don't think so. The only Bing'd devices that I can think of are the Fascinate and Revolution. Neither of which were Droid branded.
