Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

As long as it keeps up with the GSII, and the screen is nice....and it has good reception, I'll be happy.

The rumored specs just get more & more disgusting.
Will this phone be obsolete before it's even released?!

Samsung Nexus Prime: Alleged Final Specs Unveiled | Samsung Blog

FFS this is just quoting the BGR article which is as credible a source as something I left in the toilet earlier. We also have the GSM Area specs which contradict these in many places, but are probably no more reliable. If you start believing blog rumours you will end up expecting an iPhone 5.

The general public bought the OG Droid. There's practically nothing to back up your claim. The only reason skin's outsell vanilla is because there are hardly any vanilla phones.

Complete nonsense.

Agreed....in fact the general public has no idea what the ui IS when they buy a phone. They see cute models admiring themselves on the rear facing camera and want the phone. Or its ooooo look at that cute pink case!

the most irritating thing is that we are waiting but we don't know how much to wait.
when google will present the nexus? no one known and this is irritating.

Why wouldn't specs matter?
If you're faced with buying one of two phones and one has higher end technology than the other...
Aren't specs why we all came to this thread in the first place?!
Don't tell me it was simply because you liked the name, or the curved glass.
All those specs are amazing, and the 5-megapixel camera shouldn't matter if they put in a really good sensor. Remember that most--if not all--of the 8-megapixel android phones still take worse pictures than the iPhone 4 which has a 5-megapixel sensor.

As for the 1750mAh battery, I do admit that I'm slightly disappointed. I don't understand how Google would put out a phone with mediocre battery life. But we've yet to know the final specs.

Yes, it is irritating, But having decided Not to go ahead on the 11th they now have to find another date that everyone can do, It will probably have to be held on the Google Campus (Hard to get a large auditorium at short notice) so there's that to arrange too. These things take time, I am hoping for a statement on Tuesday of when the rescheduled event is.

In the meantime, take up yoga or meditation, or just take a chill pill.:)

My money is on the end of October we'll see an event. Maybe at the end of next week they'll announce the new date. I just at least want ICS to play with on my Thunderbolt while we wait for the Prime.

How is the 1750mAh battery 'mediocre'?

No, the word "Nexus" is why people came to this thread in the first place.

Having said that, yes specs matter, but to what degree? We are reaching the point of diminishing returns when it comes to GHz bumps in processor speed and the like. If we are faced with two phones and one is a Nexus device running the latest software and the other is a skinned/branded device that scores 50 points higher in Quadrant and Smartbench, you can have the higher scoring device and I'll take the Nexus Prime with ICS that performs 0.25 seconds slower in web page rendering, but is just as good or better in UI performance.

Reading this post made me think of the Bionic which I had for 14 days and returned. I think the default setting for the 8 MP camera was set to 6 MP. I could be wrong on this but that is what I recall. I would be happy with a 3.5 MP that took good pictures and more importantly was faster to react to the button press. Also I would like to confirm that especially in low light conditions the iPhone camera has always beat my BB or Droids cameras.

I have a 5 MP Canon G5 Powershot camera. It takes excellent pictures and at a several pixel densities up to very high resolution which creates large digital files that are sometimes difficult to email due to their size. I don't need anything higher. The advantage of higher resolution comes to play when you try to reduce pictures or modify them. Lower resolution means that you will lose some detail as you modify a picture with software such as MS Paint, Adobe or other picture editing software.

On the other hand I have a 5MP camera on my OG Moto droid. The pictures are OK but it takes forever to focus and doesn't produce a crisp picture like my Canon camera and it lacks customization's found on the camera. I am ok with a 5 MP camera on a phone...the devil is in the details of how the software works.

I've read the Bionic user manual and agree that the resolution is set to 6 unless you change it. Why would a manufacturer have a 8 MP camera default to 6? It is because it sells well advertised at 8 but doesn't work well at 8. If I am really are serious about cameras I think I will stick with a device that is nothing BUT a Camera.

From leaked videos I have seen ICS. Not sure I like it all that much but I don't have hands on. I may like ADW launcher EX better but I want to give ICS a chance so it would be great to have a phone without a manufacturer UI so that at least I can try it out like i have done on my OG Droid.

The Samsung Stratosphere has officially dropped for $149.99. This is a pretty good price for a decent 4G LTE phone. Can they charge $300. for the Prime after this? Hopefully not.

Likely so...I think it will go for $299 for the first 2-4 months. It's not cheap to produce a 4.65" screen, 1.2Ghz CPU, and 32GB of internal memory. I would guess the raw production costs are $150-$200 per phone for the rumored external/internal hardware.
