Today I noticed that this waiting room has had 231,640 views...

The thread started today, today about the phone possibly, possibly being available for pre-order tomorrow has had 4,197 views.

Unreal! What are we all going to do with ourselves when this phone is in our hands?!

It really hasn't been that long though. If they showed the phone in May or something, fine, but we just saw it, what, a month ago?

Realistically, it is a ridiculously small group of people getting worked up. No reason for Verizon to worry about it

I'm upset that the phone was scheduled to arrive first on verizon. But the gsm is now out, and anyone with att or tmobile can get the phone before us.

Also, at the galaxy nexus event on china, it was scheduled to arrive in November. It launched in Europe on time. So why couldn't it launch on verizon on time?

GSM is out overseas. Yes, you can import one, but technically it will still come out on Verizon first in the US.

At the event, yes they said November, but they never said where. They didn't even mention Verizon there. Again, assumptions.

Samsung wanted this device to be out to compete with the iPhone 4S. Obviously, it is not. Samsung must be beyond furious with Verizon right now.

Beyond blowing the marketing tie-in to the global launch, negating Samsung and Google's best chance to capitalize on a rare Apple misstep, AND missing the single biggest shopping day of the year, you mean?

Whether it's over legitimate technical issues or sheer bungling, the damage is done and no amount of ostrich posting will change that.

Um...no, I don't remember. I never read Samsung say anything about competing with the iPhone. And, it still will once it comes out. It never had the chance to be out at the same time anyway. Even if it was ready at the time, no carrier would have released them at the same time. And, even if it was released at the same time, who honestly thinks that it would have taken many sales from the iPhone? I would also like to point out that at the moment it is competing against the iPhone around the world, just not here.

I still think that the GN was slated to drop AT THE EARLIEST black Friday. All dates before that were just ridiculous rumors. I highly doubt Samsung is furious as this happens all the time. Again, no one should be getting worked up before January 1st, because Verizon hasn't done a single thing wrong.

I just popped into my local VZW store and tried to do a preorder for the nexus. The manager said that it wasn't yet available for preorder but for me to call back later this week. He said that he had accessories in the back but that the phones hadn't arrived yet. He told me the the nexus release date was Friday Dec 9th.

8th or 9th seems to be the date...it's been looking this way for a week or so now. That's why I didn't put much stock in these preorder rumors.

This whole thread reminds me of the Droid Incredible thread... we were all on here talking about orders and when they would ship.... and then someone would come on and say they got confirmation... others would express outrage at Verizon for delaying the phone... oh the memories...

P.S. Hurry up verizon, I love my incredible.. but I love new shiny toys more....lol

It's the same thing w/ just about every devices buildup to release, nothing out of the ordinary to note here.

How do you know this to be true? If the phone isn't released until the end of the year, then why do you think it will not be able to compete against the iPhone 4S.

Didn't Samsung and Google choose to delay their official announcement out of respect to Steve Jobs and his death?

The above at least in my opinion is a common response from VZW employees at their stores. Most of the time, they do not know when product is set to arrive, or be released. They know that they receive inventory each week. I think that is the manager trying to keep you happy and hoping that they do receive additional information about a release later this week.
