Verizon Lollipop is here!!!

No Gmail notification using WiFi tells me that 5.0 is the nothing but the buggy garbage update I have been reading about. I use Gmail for my business and rely on email notifications throughout the day and why should I have to waste data on a broken software update. Maybe down the road when 5.1 comes along I might download it, but for now this pos update is staying buried in my settings menu where it belongs. I have used 5.0.2 on another phone and there is no difference between that and 4.4.2 in terms of the phone running smoothly, so this is an update I can definitely live without.

I have gmail notification on both data and wifi with 5.0.1.

Updated this afternoon. Everything seems fine. Had to update the google play services, once that was done I got notification of 3 apps needing updates. So that works. I'm always on wi-fi at home and have received several gmail notifications. One thing I'm missing is the ability to turn off the led from the notifications panel. This is easily solved with a downloaded widget. Battery still going strong. So basically this was big hype for little improvement.

Updated at noon today. After the update, cleared the cache and rebooted. Everything is smooth so far. Lag is much less/gone. Battery so far is roughly the same for me, 4 plus hours of screen time. May get better once update settles. So far, no complaints.

Yes this really is much ado about nothing, plus I hate the geometric navigation buttons and the fact that it takes away all of the power button shortcuts leaving you with just the power off option. The only decent thing about it is the lock screen message notifications but I have that on 4.4.2 with an app( the verizon messenger + app in fact).

I did the install OTA. It seemed to install correctly. But now nothing works. I can't get a network signal. I keep getting a message that "com.android.phone" has stopped. What do I do?

I got the update earlier and at first everything was lagging and things were choppy. But once I powered the phone off and pulled the battery and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, I put the battery back and once booted up it was good to go. Everything is snappy with no issues so far.

Lollipop makes soft keys randomly switch from white and black on different apps...anyone else have this problem?

Wow, the phone is so much faster and no issues. I did do a factory reset after installing the update.

I have the 23A leaked update, A few questions is it worth Flashing to 23C and what is the difference?
Also Can I flash directly from 23A to 23C?

Have been trying with the VZW updater and it isn't working

thanks
Chris
I tried everything, had to give up and flash back to 10, then 11 then 12 before I could get Lollipop 23c OTA. Working great now. Can't see any improvement over 23a, just wanted to be back on the standard upgrade path.

I had done the leaked 23A update a few weeks back. At that time, did a factory reset immediately after installing since it was a major version change. Yesterday I did (via USB) the 23C update. It's too early to post anything conclusive, but so far phone feels stable and good/better battery. Will see how it does today, and if the sync issue is resolved. I seemed to be getting hangouts messages in real time so far, which I wasn't on 23A, so that looks positive so far.
