I gotta be honest here. I could care less about this feature. I would like to see lollipop before this. The area I travel has a few spots that switch data to 3g because 4g signal is weak. I probably wont even activate it. It is nice they are starting to roll it out though. I know they are changing some 3g signals over to 4g so maybe the signal will get better for the are I travel through.

I don't care, but I just don't see using data and voice at the same time. I never have before and I don't see doing so in the future.

A few examples...

Talking on the phone while using navigation
Being on the phone and saying "here, I'll send you this picture."
While on the phone, "Hang on, let me look that up."

I've frequently wanted to send someone a pic while talking to them.

Yah. just taking a call while navigation is running. Never knew how often I did that until the message kept popping up on my Turbo.

List Things You've Noticed from VoLTE Update

Let's list the things that the HD Voice/VoLTE update has changed.

I received the update this morning. In other threads people have noticed:

1. Faster WiFi
2. No more data leakage/usage while on WiFi
3. Reduced battery use while phone is "idling"
4. Ability to remove Google search bar from stock launcher

I've taken a couple of phone calls (strange use for a cell phone, I know) and noticed:

1. Much, much louder volume in the earpiece and speaker phone. I mean I needed to turn the volume down to about 50%, where previously I needed to have it almost maxed out.

2. New look and new controls on the "phone active" screen. The red bar icon for hanging up the phone no longer stretches all the way across the screen, near the bottom of the screen. Instead it occupies the center one-third of the screen near the bottom, flanked by a touch area for "camera on" and "one-way camera". Bottom row of this screen is the familar "Dialpad", "Speaker", "Mute", and "Add Call" icons.

I have the update and still can't remove the Google search bar from the stock launcher.

'14 X user hear so I'm still waiting for this. However, have any of you had dropped calls (or excessive dropped calls)? My wife's G3 just got it too but I have not enabled it yet.

Call volume better, battery life jumped, cell signal strength increase 1 bar, HD voice available in settings if turned on in my verizon app, lte cdma umts setting available
Not sure I like HD voice over better/louder regular sound in call

WIFI way faster
Bluetooth improvement may be helping ware watch (GWr) battery life

EDIT: Nevermind, it was because I had my phone plugged in to charge. It went back to solid color after I unplugged it.

The first thing I noticed is that the battery life indicator on the command center widget has a more "textured" look to it, whereas before it was just a flat solid color. Just something cosmetic, haven't used the phone much yet to find other functional changes.

If you reboot when in silent or vibrate-only mode, the startup sounds will also be silent - except for a quick vibration.

Great to have a dedicated thread for this.

Long press on home screen and choose "Settings" to disable google search bar ... thumbs up!!

Not being able to actually USE THE SPACE gained for widgets .... thumbs down!!
