Totally different scenario. The hoverboards were made by cheap Chinese OEM companies then rebranded by multiple middle man companies before making it to consumer hands. Samsung already has a process started and this will hopefully be more of an official rubber stamp. It could be months before the Note 7 is replaced or etc, because the Feds are now involved.
(It took 6 months for the CPSC to recall exploding hoverboards, to give you some context.)
Yes they will, using the number that was used to purchase the device.
It's gonna take a few more days, with a weekend and a holiday thrown in, for Verizon to set up a firm Top-to-Bottom policy and the rules trickle down to the stores.
I was at a Verizon Store at 9:45 a.m. this morning and the clerk told me the recall did NOT include U.S. phones. I told him he was wrong and he asked me where I got the phone. When I told him I pre-ordered it at the Verizon website, he was OBVIOUSLY relieved and considered himself off-the-hook.
So I figure it wont be sorted out with Verizon till Wednesday-Thursdayish.
Peace. Alan
this is most likely bad for us folks who just want to exchange our note 7's for new note 7's. the time line will be all thrown off now.The Federal Consumer Protection Agency is getting involved now. Worst case scenario Samsung may not be able to sell the revised Note 7 in the US. or could lead to a delay in replacement stock.
I have a quick question if somebody can help. I still have my Note 4. Unfortunately I factory reset it and removed and threw away the sim card that was in the Note 4. Can I remove the sim card from my Note 7 and put it into the Note 4? Would it automatically have my contacts etc? or do I need to move them over or download from the cloud? tia
I was told once you exchange that's it.I went to the Verizon store at Freehold Mall today and they were familiar with the exchange program. I brought my Note 7 together with the cables, box, etc. and they gave me choice of what phone to swap with. I selected an S7 Edge (Silver). Bought a case with it, they credited me back for the Note 7 and didn't charge a restocking fee. When I asked if they will be calling people that have swapped their Note 7s, he told me no and to just check from time to time to see if they have the Note 7 in stoc in a week or so. If I swap back to another Note 7, there will be no restocking fee either. It's a hassle but at least they had swapped me pretty quickly.
Mine is just fine. Sure hate to trade it for an unknown Note 7 device.
