Verizon release date

Vandigity, what do you mean you won't be able to purchase in the corporate stores? Website only?

This is annoying. I am trying to get my contract ducks in a row as I have an OLD plan (where you actually pay for minutes...lol) and I have talked to three people and gotten three different answers. I can't get the answer to:

1) If I go Edge program do I have to continue to pay the phone payment plan after the phone is paid off and do I have to get a new phone every two years?
2) If I only upgrade one phone (My wife wants to keep her iPhone for now) can I burn another upgrade later in the next two years and not have to resign a contracts.
3) If the new phone I purchase doensn't work for me (worried about weak radios still and my basement is a signal sucker) can I return the phone and NOT get a new phone and still have my upgrade for both phones?

I went into a corp store and asked those three questions and you would have thought I was asking for the area under a curve. Went online and got a yes answer from one guy and a no answer from a lady. Horrible...jsut horrible. All I want to do is figure out the best way to obtain the phone and have an exit strategy in the event it doesn't work up to expectation. *sigh*

I long gave up on waiting for the Edge at Verizon, but I would think they would do everything in their power (if not blocked contractually) to offer the phone before Christmas, not the day after, Dec. 26, makes no sense - unless this phone is so niche they don't really care about it as a Christmas sales booster.

Although, using me as an anecdotal sample size, they lost a family of 4 because of the delay. I was the only one to get an Edge, but with the family plan I had to move and get everyone new phones on a new ATT contract to get my Edge with the Wedge.

Yeah, but my indecision is being helped by the late release. I am still wary of weak Samsung radios. So I have been putting together my test plan to make sure GPS and speaker phone and radio seem to work ok. However I am reading about people stating it works fine for a month and then goes to pot. :-(

I think I would be gone too if I didn't get my Gear S with Verizon which I am in love with... Should have jumped ship when I got it last month.

I find the 26th hard to believe and I don't think it will show until after the new year but I have felt this way since black friday.

Even though I'm bummed to not find positive information on the Verizon Edge release date on here, I'm so happy i'm not the only one tearing out my hair waiting for this thing! And seeing it in the Samsung commercials makes it worse. I love the Note series, i've had 1, 2 and 3 but i can't bring myself to get the 4 knowing the Edge is coming. My brother has a 4 and its fantastic, but i really want my Edge! :'(

If this holds true, I'll be preordering on Friday. Was hoping for a white one but black should be fine.

New here, but I been monitoring this forum for over the last few months. Im also interested in the verizon edge. It's amazing how impatient some ppl are. Just relax and calm down. At the end of the day it's a phone. The wait with Verizon is annoying and seemingly inexcusable as they have a pattern of this type of behavior. If this was one of their droid phones with the edge feature it would have been released months ago I'm sure.

I just don't feel it's worth switching carriers tho. Just be patient. It's probably not the smartest buy with another edge device likely to be released in the upcoming months anyway. I would not be surprised to see the S6 with the edge variant. For me, this delay helps me as it allows me to handle more important things like Christmas shopping for my kids. So if it's released the 1st of the year I'm cool with that.

Just think if they released it with a bunch of problems. Every one would be complaining that they released it to early.
If it gets released with lollipop that will be worth the wait and save another thousand threads complaining about that. If it goes pre order Friday, I will be in line. Fingers crossed.

I agree. However looking at the Android Lollipop 5.0 forum there will still most likely be problems. It is what it is. I hope Android stays on top of it better than Windows does their OS stuff...LOL!

I will be eagerly looking Friday morning as well to preorder. Here is to luck that the phone will be worth it! :-)

Seeing as note 4 is $29/month, I'd think edge would be ~$35 give or take a little, since it's more expensive on other carriers compared to note 4

Yes that makes sense, hopefully your right. Any higher than that and I might have to rethink this purchase. Thanks!

My Note 2 is on it's last legs. Been limping it along for almost 6 months. IF it dies before the Edge comes out, I'm not sure I will stay with Verizon. I will most likely get it from another carrier and be done with Verizon.

I also don't see it being released before Christmas or the 26th. That would be bad timing and right in the mist of the holiday shopping. The time to release an expensive device like this would be November-ish, around black Friday. A near christmas release makes zero sense. No one buys a phone as present because of the contractual element. I would be almost shocked to see this phone set for pre order tomorrow with ppl doin major shopping this weekend. This would literally be an almost extra $500 expense before Christmas that most didn't really plan for.
If it's available for pre order I'm all over it but I could see how it could be bad timing and an inconvenient expense for a lot of ppl.

At this point a January release makes the most sense.

Verizon has put zero stock in this phone obviously so a pre order tomorrow and a launch on the 26 makes total sense to me.

This is confusing to me. Zero stock means its listed somewhere with available quantity of zero or zero stock equals no faith?
