Just spoke to someone on the phone at Verizon and he said he heard it will be released on the 8th. He also said he didn't think that there will be a pre-order.

I just looked on the Samsung web site and they just updated it with the Verizon user manual for the Galaxy Note Edge. Looks like it really is happening.

I have been stalking this forum for a few weeks as my wife and I are eagerly Verizon's offering of the Edge. Every so often I like to chat with the sales people on the website and act like I don't know anything lol. Got some more info today about a release next Thursday. I took a screenshot of the conversation.

I am skeptical as well, but this is the most info or anything even remotely close to a day as I have ever gotten from anyone at Verizon. It seems to corroborate with what others are hearing as well.

yes, all it takes for that rumor to circulate is someone posting a date on this forum, then everybody else assumes it's good and start mentioning it. remember Dec 26th release date...

We should know by next week. But it now seems that VZW stores may carry it.

That almost seem like a blow off type response. The typical "don't really know, but I'll float something out to give u hope" type of response. I don't really think he knows. Verizon seems like the typical big successful company, but so wildly mismanagement. I see it all the time, major mismanagement but yet the company remains insanely successfully. Besides the top execs, I don't think they really know. I think we would find out a date before some of them.


I have no contact, actually I do but I didn't even bother calling him. But i will throw out a date on a guess just to give hope and I'm saying January 23rd. Since some of u believe everything u hear, why not. Lol.

It's funny how January 8th is being thrown out by the little workers kn the front line, yet the corporate people have no release information at all. If you hear it from a rep, dont believe it. They will always give you the "rumored" information and sell it to you to blow you off or keep the convo going. Nah, I'll pass on that release info.

based on the built up of info on this devise in the past week or so, it seems that VZW will release it and soon too. whether it's going to be next week, right in the middle of CES 2015, is not clear.

I tried to be patient with Verizon but I switched to ATT. I was with att a couple years ago and I don't see much difference other than a little coverage differences. I love the phone.

My brother (who is a corporate vzw exec) showed me the email they received so its official, it WILL be out on the 8th. 100% confirmed.

At this point I'll believe it when I see it. Someone posted on here last time that they had contacts and that their dates were definite, wouldn't show proof and the date rolled around and nothing. Not trying to be a downer, but been there done that. Show me proof and then I'll believe it.

Are they anticipating a short supply? I am curious because my line is all messed up and has been since mid-October. Its a glitch in the computer system so, hopefully it will resolved this week. This is the only phone that I really consider worth upgrading from the Note 3.

Getting the Verizon Galaxy Note Edge on 2 Year contract or on VZW's Edge Plan?
Now here's my thinking on getting the phone on the two year plan with sales tax and upgrade fee, or on the edge plan with $25 off the monthly bill and no sales tax and no upgrade fee.

What I am not sure of, is if the $25 off the monthly bill a sure thing or not and for that I may need to check with the phone CS.

But a Note Edge in LA will cost $466 with two year contract (incl sales tax and upgrade fee).

With the VZW edge plan it is $33 a month and no other fees, and if the $25 off the bill is in fact true it sounds like a tempting offer.

However, the edge plan now requires 75% of the phone paid ($600) plus your current phone being handed over (~$100) before an upgrade can be made. That makes little sense.

But if you are saving $25 on your bill, then you are only paying $8 for the Note Edge, for a price of $192 after two years. This is not a bad way of looking at it.

Any ideas?

PS: See update below. The $25 off monthly is only for accounts with 10gig of data of month. For others it's only $15 off a month.

Got a phone for my daughter on Edge in November..an iphone 6. The phone was nearly free with the plan discount, but I did have to pay the sales tax and return the phone that was previously attached to the number. Still a good deal.
