Very Close To Buy The Nexus 6

I am contemplating picking up the Nexus 6 myself. I currently have an iPhone 6 plus, iPad mini 2 and Mac (so yes I'm in the Apple ecosystem). I have flirted with android in the past but have never fully committed to it as it was a choice between one or the other (iOS or android) but not both.

I have recently decided to bite the bullet and get a second line so I can have the best of both worlds. This phone appeals to me as it runs pure stock Android. I've tried the HTC one M8 but the screen was too small and Samsung's touch wiz makes for a less than smooth experience. The only thing that concerns me is the back cover issue which I'm sure makes up a very small percentage of units sold. It has pushed me from definitely getting this device to favouring it with reservations. Anyone have any thoughts? From what I hear Motorola recognizes it as a problem and has been good about issuing replacements.

I can only speak for the one I own, but I have had 0 problems (ordered mine from Play store on Nov. 12, got it 2 weeks later Nov. 26). I can guarantee you if you try it, there will be things you absolutely love about it that you never had with iPhone, and vice versa. I.e., you'll be asking "why, why, why Apple haven't you implemented this with iPhones," and at the same time asking "why, why, why Google haven't you implemented this with Android."

I do suggest that for a first android phone, Nexus is a great way to go. It will be most similar to what your experience has been in terms of having a pure OS experience with updates, etc, and should lay a foundation for you of what Android is about. From there, should you eventually choose to try some of the tangents, you'll have a better idea of what the common aspects to all Android devices are.

Going from an iPhone 6 plus to the nexus 6 you'll notice a huge difference with battery life.

If that's a deal breaker, don't do it. If it isn't I say go for it.

Here's a review by TechRadar comparing phones. Note that when running TechRadar's 90 minute HD video test that the Nexus 6 battery life dropped only 17% and iPhone 6 Plus went down a whopping 27%. So Ray is absolutely correct. There is a huge difference with battery life.

I know in your heart you honestly don't believe the nexus 6 battery life is better than the iPhone 6 plus. Please don't steer them in the direction of a device just because you own it and are a bit biased.

I would be hard pressed to believe that the n6 has better batt life than an I phone but I think you are being a little ridiculous with this whole crusade against the n6 batt life. Now the n5 that's another story.

Its difficult to find a nexus 6 thread on these forums without ray in it. And he always has one message...bad battery life. As a nexus 6 owner I can say my battery life is good.

It seems like He's trolling us all.

Iphone 6 plus battery life > nexus 6 battery life.. You literally just agreed to it. How is that trolling?

Well I did it. Just setting it up but so far it feels great in my hand. Size is very close to the iPhone 6. I think I'm gonna enjoy. Now does the nexus 6 replace my iPhone 6+ as my daily driver? We shall see.

Good luck dude. It's a nice phone and lollipop is nice. Obviously you may be able tell what my biggest issue what the device is,hope it works out different for you.

You may be correct that the I phone has better battery life (I really could care less one way or the other) and that's fine, I can agree with that, but you are on here needlessly spewing as much negative feedback as possible about the n6 battery life over and over again in an attempt to provoke others into responding and playing "the game". Trolling 101

Again you agree. Yes it's negative feedback . I am only allowed to provide positive feedback?

Its not necessarily the negative feedback, its the over and over repetive and provacatory nature of it. Let it rest already. You're beating a dead horse.

I'm lucky that I can plug in at my desk and I'm never to far from a charger. So battery has never been an issue for me. I'm gonna hope for the best with it.

Couldn't agree more. It almost seems desperate.
