Vivid or Natural

I use vivid, white balance max to cool.

But I also don't use the blue filter at night/in the dark. Only time i'll use dark mode is when im in a vehicle at night.

Forget eye strain, I t amazes me how many owners aren’t concerned about screen accuracy. The S10 display was rated the most accurate display of any phone out there and yet most here are using viivid. That’s throwing accuracy out the window.

I’d imagine most users who prefer vivid would never have their TVs ISF calibrated either. They’d probably hate that look.

I want my TV to be accurate. I want my phone to be flexible. Natural for video, vivid for certain graphics.

Honest question, but why in the world would you want your phone to be color accurate? Are you doing professional graphic design on it?

For most people it's a media consumption device and something to have fun with. Even if you're using it for work, I don't really understand why it would have to be color accurate.

For me, I would rather have the punchy, "fun" colors of an amoled screen compared to a muted one.

Same with my TV. I went the calibrated route and it was super lifeless. I sat there and thought, "I'm using this TV to be entertained, not worry about color accuracy". I dialed my settings in to what looked best to ME, not anybody else or some silly standard.

Just my opinion. Use what looks best to your eyes and what offers a more pleasurable experience.

No one should care why someone else wants what they want. Samsung gives you a choice, if you like natural, then go with that.

Natural is what I have set on the Pixel so I'll try it on the Samsung display.

i just found this setting yesterday after a couple of days of using it, and couldn't believe the difference.

it came out of the box in Natural, but changing it to Vivid made a big difference for me.

Natural so I can use the Lesser Blue feature as it doesn't allow that with Vivid.

Natural was too bland and dull but defualt Vivid was too oversaturated for me so I just turned down the RBG sliders in Vivid mode to about 40% and left everything else alone and now it's like the best of both worlds, not overly dull, but not overly saturated......just right!

Don’t be patronising...ever heard of blue light filter? Or not being on a mobile device constantly? Or eating carrots XD?

When an AMOLED display shows black colours, they just turn off individual pixels (which means that they display more accurate black colours). LCDs on the other hand, rely on an LED backlight so even when they display their less accurate black colour there is still light shining.

Interpret that as you wish.

I've always used Vivid, but when I did a factory reset last weekend I left it on Natural to check it out.

Honestly, for what I do on the phone I hardly notice the difference.
