We've got the LG G3, you've got questions...

I didn't consider the waterproof aspect of the LG G3 either! Thanks for bringing to my attention. When there's the S5 that's water resistant it gives me that much more of a reason not to convert to the G3.

Any word if the screen is crap like the Sony Xperia Z2 and useless wearing polarized sunglasses? Even if it's just in portrait mode it defeats the purpose of having an awesome camera. Sony dropped the ball, hopefully LG didn't also. They must think no one would go outside wearing polarized sunglasses & want to take a picture of anything. Even my goggles are polarized so it'd be useless in the pool. Definitely want to check this phone out in person when it shows up in a local store.

Why do you need this? Do you usually talk on the phone in terrential downpours? I almost feel like those clamoring for this are the same person(s) who sued for spilling boiling hot coffee on themselves. Won the court battle and now you see on coffee containers, caution hot - will burn you when spilled on self.

What do you think?

I'm not a clumsy person at all; its just nice to have, that's all :). I mean you could have your phone out and someone spills something on it, etc. I used to have a Motorola Defy which was waterproof; it was nice to just dunk it in water and play around with it lol.

Can the on screen buttons be changed like the G2? I remember LG had some options to change the stile of the 3 on screen buttons similar to what custom roms were known for

Yep, Dual Window mode is supported

1) Micro
2) G3 probably comes top. Or maybe a close second to the M8 if you can deal with its sliperiness.
3) Comparable to the GS5 on the version I have (olleh/KT)
4) Too early to comment on performance, since we're using a preproduction device.
5) Very similar to the Z2.
6) Less grain than the Z2 in photos, in general.
Nope. It really just feels like a phone.

I've seen orange and blue from it so far.

Yep.
1) Yep.
2) Not quite Nexus level, though as we continually point out, this is a preproduction unit.
3) Around Z2 level, I'd say. Need to test some more though.
4) No.

Yep.

Thanks!

Does google play music streaming work? This has been a problem on LG phones for a while. Music cuts out after a minute or so. Curious if the new software will include a fix.

Thanks for answering all these questions! My M7 takes hours to charge.

Does the G3 supports rapid charging?

Well. I am on the same time zone as Alex - so first of all Thanks Very Much for working through the night here in Blighty.

Now that we know the launch price here will be ?499.00 and hopefully will get better, it seems a very nice phone on paper.
5.5" v 5.7" on my Note 3, little difference so a good bit of hardware on paper.
I for one would need to go through this thread in full to find foibles, and also wait for a review. Needs a basic case to grip then I think.
My contract ends in July and I can get a new phone or not, I own the Note 3. Let's see.

Hmm, thats $678 USD ... about what the G Flex cost at launch.

Full HD vs. Quad HD in the 5" to 6" screen range - Is Quad HD worth it?

Well it's 85% more pixels, photos probably look like you're staring through a window at them. Not a big draw to me but office docs and multi tasking would be super crisp, tho typesetting at such high rez will hit the SoC pretty hard.

Does it have an equalizer? The g2 didn't.

Seems to work fine.

Daylight performance seems fine to me.

Yea I know why are manufactures leaving important capabilities out of these new phones and why are they making them so fragile?

Can you hard reset or reboot with out doing a battery a pull?

Qi charging comes standard, correct? Just wondering if there is an add on receiver or if it is built in. Looks nice thought, thanks for the review!!

The wireless charging works with a 3,000 mAh removable battery - some geographies will get the charging backplate in the box, while others will have it sold as a separate accessory - and LG claims to have improved performance there, too, using adaptive frame-rate, adaptive clocking, and adaptive timing of the processor and display to optimize the Quad HD resolution.

Does it have the ability to do the nexus style circular folders instead of those godawful skeumorphic style ones on the G2?
