Whats Revolutionary About iPhone 5?

That is true, absolutely. Though, the only things the Android phones had on the 4s were bigger screens and 4g.

Its PLENTY other things android does that iOS can't

Not turn by turn, iirc.

Yep. No native turn-by-turn.

And only the 4S and higher get turn-by-turn in Apple Maps.

Uhh. Their contract was up. Apple declined to renew it.

Did the iPhone have a native navigation app before iOS 6? Although I'd hardly call Apple Maps a navigation app?

The right answer is 'sort of'. It used a 'native' google maps app; it was very good to look things up with, but it wasn't turn by turn / self re-routing etc. Not really a nav package, more of a 'map' package.

There are some very good nav apps for iPhone - probably better than for Android in fact - but then you start paying $$, and many of them are $$ / month. Android's nav package is killer on a midrange to high end phone. I will say I've seen the Android nav package 'slaughter' weaker / cheap single core 600-800mhz android phones, but if you've got a halfway decent phone it is truly a killer app that few know about.

Tasker is another really awesome app for those that want to exploit the customization ability of the Android platform and go beyond just widgets and launchers. There is nothing like Tasker for iOS, and unless they open up the OS more there never will be.

Why would you not call it a navigation app? I use it everyday and its been great. Just like when I had my SG3.

My friend with a 4S said he tried them all and they all suck compared to Android's. Though idk to what extent he tried them or if he even tried them all. (Doubtful)

As much as I respect th iPhone, how about no?

The maps app is more like a smart mapbook. It shows the route, but you have to keep looking at it.

Most nav apps show / tell you where to go continuously based on where you are, ie turn right in 500 feet etc., which is why Apple is replacing it.

I like having both (which android does), they have slightly different uses though.

I'm talking about iOS 6. You must be talking about the old app. The old app wasn't good but the App Store had Tom Tom, tele nav.... which were all great.

I doubt he tried them all. That would be purchasing over $300 in just nav apps.

I know most Android users complain about bloat ware. AT&T finally stuck their nose in iOS 6. They disabled FaceTime over 3G/LTE unless you prescribe to a mobile share plan. I don't understand that logic. Is mobile share data diff. Than normal data?

Yeah i think he just tried all the free ones. And that doesn't do anything justice.

Because of you are on an unlimited data plan you'll use more.

Government should step in and put a stop to this

Have you heard about all the problems with the Maps app? With things like landmarks destroyed decades ago still showing up and being in the wrong place? Or identifying the location of someone who's in London as in Texas? I've seen this stuff myself. It's real.

Nope, it's the same. It's just that Mobile Share is more expensive unless you have a family plan, so they're trying to make you use it. At least they're not Verizon, making it so you can only use the Share Everything plan (not the normal one) no matter of OS.
I know exactly what you all were talking about I read the thread

Then you should have known that we were discussing specs, not the OS.

Lol. That piece of crap Galaxy Nexus is what drove me to iOS. Like you said, to each his/her own.
