What's your earliest Android OS?

Mine was Android Jelly Bean and I had it installed in my first Samsung Galaxy S. It was like years ago :)

Believe it or not, but my father-in-law still uses it :)

Samsung Galaxy S! The original! That's so cool! And the fact that it's still being used is amazingly awesome!

Galacy Tab 2 running ICS. After a year and a half Samsung downclocked the CPU to 646MHz while booting. I switched to CyanogenMod and other ROMs and it ran everything up to and including marshmallow!! When I retired it last July (I upgraded to a Tab S3), I had kitkat CarbonROM (Ported by the famous dev android-andi)on it with my favorite overclocking kernel.

As I'm looking at the tips/layout for the newly installed Oreo on my Note 8, I started remembering past updates and the excitement of their release.
Then I remembered getting my first Android phone and thought how stupid the names sounded..
Operating systems named after foods? Desserts?
It has certainly came a long way. My Note 8 is blazing fast now with the latest Oreo update. I do remember how slow my Android was compared to Apple's in the earlier versions and slower hardware days.
But those days are gone now.
Although I can't remember the exact phone, it was in 2009, Eclair. 10 versions ago.
What was yours?
Mine was Eclair on the Galaxy S, the S1 basically. Before then I had been on Windows Mobile smartphones.

Android 2.2 Froyo on my dad's Motorola Droid either that or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Google Nexus 7 (2012).

Mine was 2.1 on the HTC desire what a phone that was got updated to 2.2 but never went to gingerbread and that put me off buying another HTC ever again.

My first Androis OS was 2.3.3 Gingerbread on Samsung Galaxy Y. Although it was not as fast as today's version, but it was good at that time. After that i used Kitkat version which further upgraded android 6.1 Lollipop. Currently i am using android 8.1 Oreo. I have also used iOS but i like android more as it is simple and good to use.

My first Android version was Gingerbread. I had nothing but iPhones at that point and kinda wanted to switch up. I remember being blown away by the simplest things like switching files, actually sharing a picture (remember that???), changing the look of the phone (thank you customization!!), SD card support to augment storage, and the ability to root my phone to my hearts content.

Mine was an Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) with Android 2.1 (Eclair):

Excellent phone. What made it great was that the developer community latched on to it over at XDA. This meant I had the latest (unofficial) android releases for the phone for a long time.

Mine was whatever ran on the Galaxy Ace, the widgets were pretty fun but my store was locked for some reason so my only entertainment back in the day on that thing consisted of "lolcats" and "funny people pictures" etc.

...those were the days.

I had the original Motorola Droid and I believe it launched with Android 2.0, Eclair??? I think that's correct.

Mine was 2.1 on the HTC desire what a phone that was got updated to 2.2 but never went to gingerbread and that put me off buying another HTC ever again.
Something similar happened to me, with Motorola.
They promised to update the Photon 4G to the next Android version, than out of the blue, backed down on that when the date was merely days away!
Many, many of us turned away from Motorola and never looked back.
Until this day, I will not recommend Motorola to anyone in my family.

Android 2.0.1 on the OG Droid. Back in the days of wanting more homescreens, a dark notification bar and a shopping list of things that custom ROMs offered.

First android phone I owned was a Sprint Hero that was just updated (back then) to the latest software version "Cupcake" :) Seems like a real long time ago, but that was 2009.
