What's your next phone after the V20?

That's odd... So IR blaster is the only reason you've used Android ?
No but Flashplayer is no longer secure so that's gone. Multicolor led indicator is found in fewer and fewer phones. I hate 18/9 ratio. I hate curved edges. Originally I chose Android because I liked the Droid pull out keyboard! Now that I am accustomed to typing on a screen keyboard I have less reason NOT to go with iPhone. I also like the Apple watch.

ir blaster is very very convenient for me and it is the only reason I went with V20. Had to choose between multicolor led notifications and ir blaster and I chose the ir blaster so I really do like it.

Of course if iPhone goes with 18/9 ratio or curved edges I wouldn't do it.

I hope I have at least 18 months to decide since my V20 is only 6 months old and I am very happy with it. The next feature I lose will just be the straw that broke the camel's back. The new features many are thrilled with like Samsung Pay, face scanner, iris scanner, VR, etc do nothing for me. I know many love them. Just not useful for me.

Cool. I guess I was just lost because iPhone doesn't have IR either so it was odd to me to say .. they don't have it so I'm going to this other phone that is in the same boat.

Oh I know the iPhone has far less features but I doubt any new top of the line phone that is sold by VZW will have ir blaster in 2 years. I have no reason to think Samsung will abandon 18/9 nor curved edges. LG is heading to 18/9 also and I fear Moto will do the same if they are still in business. Samsung dominates the Android world. I loved my Note 3. Who knows maybe the Note 8 or 9 will be flat and 16/9 but it seems unlikely. At least the iPhone will be something completely new to me and there is a level of attraction to that.

There is also the possibility VZW may pick up a Chinese brand with features I like in 2 years so who knows?

I have an iPhone for work and I hate using it but since it's only for calls and email I can live with it.

currently have the G6 as many of you know, but I'm keeping an eye out for the V30. LG has done a good job with it's UX resources not using a lot of battery. The battery is better than it was on the V20 which was already way better than the V10. I'm interested in seeing how well it's done on the V30 since apparently it'll be sealed.

The V30 will sport a 4000 plus battery because of the improved DAC

Depends on if the V30 keeps the removable battery. If not, I might try out whatever new BlackBerry is out by then, since they're still sticking with the hardware keyboard and I really miss those.

Will consider the v30 or maybe Note 8... but hey, if this is still going strong... v20 a little longer!!!

I've seen quite a few express the same desire, mostly those waiting for the V30 and if the V30 doesn't do anything special, just hold on to the V20. I include myself in that category and I won't be going with Note... Not because I think it inferior, but it's not my cup of tea and I love my Quad DAC. Hope they keep and improve it in the V30.

I agree... There are features here that are hard to pass up! The Quad DAC is awesome!

And the phone gets the job done for me!

Current V20 owners and your future... what will you do next?

Now that we know what the next V30 looks like and will be going forward, to those that are still with the V20, what will your future look like? Are you going to succumb to the new generation of glass phones and give it a shot? Or will you keep your V20 until it dies? Or will you seek alternatives, which none have removable batteries but at least made of metal or plastic back? Am curious what everyone is thinking now.

Re: Current V20 owners and your future... what will you do next?

For me, I'm not even sure yet. Most likely will be keep my V20 until it dies and/or seek alternatives such as Huawei Mate 10, OnePlus 5, or S8 Active. With my experience with sealed back phones, battery life drops significantly over time, you won't experience that amazing battery life like you did when you first got it, that's why I got the V20. Trying really hard to avoid glass back phones, just can't justify spending $900 on a phone and have it made of delicate glass on the back. You can say, "Too bad, move on and get with the times." but I already know what glass phones are like and I really don't like them.

Should I start an online petition? I don't think it'll do anything but at least may send a message.

Re: Current V20 owners and your future... what will you do next?

If the V30 doesn't have a removable battery, I'll hang on to the V20 for at least another year.

Re: Current V20 owners and your future... what will you do next?

I'm keeping the V20. I have read that the V30 will not have removable battery and no second screen. Like the second screen, think it's a mistake them removing it.

I would wait to reserve judgement on what the floating screen brings to the table.

My future is the V20. :) I just ordered an unlocked one today, and it will arrive next week.
