When do you think Galaxy S8/S8+ will get Android Oreo?

SamMobile reported recently that Samsung might start the Oreo beta program on 10/31. Last year's beta program lasted until December and Nougat rolled out end of December/early January for international variants of the S7 series.

Do you know how to get on to the beta program?

Last year Samsung had a beta enrollment program. They might do the same thing this year.

Thanks 😁, I've since read on sammobile that last year Samsung only sought testers who used two different US telcos, so that's useless for the bulk of us.

Last year they didn't include India in the beta test too..this year they might (as per SamMobile). I'm guessing they'll open it for the unlocked variant for sure, carrier variants are up to the carriers to opt in.

It makes sense. This year it is Sprint and T-Mobile. One is CDMA and one is GSM. Since both have LTE, it makes sense to test it on two different network types. Beta testing is purposely done on a small scale. It's easier to isolate OS/firmware problems from general network problems.

it doesn't make sense that it's restricted to the US. Samsung is the biggest seller of phones in Australia.

Just that fact alone means we deserve some love .... (and it is an optional thing to go on the beta program)
