WK: Since android 4.3 has been released for Galaxy S3s for other carriers, I know it is available. Would Samsung push the update OTA directly to my phone?
Tazeen: You can ask them if they can, Verizon Wireless does not push it to your phone. You can check periodically to see if the update is available by going to your Settings>About phone> System update
WK: Yes, I've been checking using that route since 11/22 when Verizon Galaxy S3 was anticipated to release the update. But I don't understand why Samsung would hold the update specifically for Verizon. Maybe you can help me understand.
Tazeen: Well before any updates are released Samsung and Verizon work together to make sure the update will not cause any issues to the phone and will work well with our network and features. There are many different tests done to make sure of that and that can cause delay. There isnt a system that I have available to push the update to your phone but I have been told that the manufacture may have some other way to assist with the update.
WK: I'll contact Samsung to ask why Verizon update is taking longer than rest of carriers. But I have a hunch they may tell me to contact Verizon.
