Where is the 4.3 Update for the Verizon Galaxy S3?

My guess is that Verizon, being typically VERY cautious about fully testing releases before sending them OTA, realized that this release has had some major issues for other carrier's handsets. This likely led to longer internal testing before release. I don't expect to see the release before this coming weekend either. My thinking is that their tech support is probably being inundated with calls from customers setting up/having trouble with the equipment the bought during "black Friday/Cyber Monday" shopping, and adding a new, potentially problematic software release during this time might be more than they are equipped to handle. Working as a level 2 support analyst myself for the past 6+ years, I'd avoid shooting myself in the foot like that if it were me. I'm guessing late this week or next week sometime at the earliest, but probably before the week of Christmas...

I don't disagree with much of what you are saying, but I think your major premise ("major issues with other carrier's handsets") is not completely accurate. As noted several posts above yours, there seem to be minimal problems with the US carriers' release of this software. Nevertheless, you may be right as regards to non-US carriers, but those, as noted, have different hardware configs than the US models do.

I pay nearly 3x the amount of money in contract with Verizon....this is getting ridiculous.

✌SG3/iPad2

Yeah, I mean, we were patient when they said they were skipping 4.2 to go to 4.3. I was fine with that. But now the basically every other carrier on the planet has this update but Verizon...just stupid...

I was going to write something snarky about how much those other carriers' bug filled 4.3 enabled S3s are crashing right and left. Then I figured: why expend the energy....

It's not so much that everyone else has it, it is more that Verizon has been silent on it. At least a "Hang on, its coming" message would be better than crickets. I know that some phones have been buggy since the release but they have been getting better.

Checked my buddies T mobile phone and he hasn't got the update.

Geez some of you act like this update will make life 10 times better. Yes it will bring new features and hope to improve issues....but it has only been a week maybe 2 since others got it. Not like we've been waiting months.

I thought there were troubles as well but aside from Gottabemobile I'm not reading about many complaints. Nothing out of the ordinary anyway.

Some people have been dealing with the 4.1.2 update issues for like a year. Try to keep things in perspective...

.. I'm trusting that there is some rhyme or reason as to why we don't have it yet. But I really wish they would roll the darn thing out already.

Yeah I have been like others, just not going crazy because it's not here yet.

There's also some apps coming out that ONLY work with 4.2 and above and since the S3 never got 4.2... Plus if someone wanted a Gear and has a Verizon S3...well, it won't work. That's the biggest thing. Samsung releases a pretty cool gadget that won't work with a ton of phones because they haven't updated the OS yet.

Upgraded to CM 10.2 and never looked back. CM team actually deliver unlike Verizon

Wait, wait, wait... you guys are complaining about NOT receiving the latest and greatest FW? Only to gripe and complain about every phantom battery drain and numerous other perceived issues once you do?

...maybe I just don't understand.

I think it's more about being stuck on 4.1 when 4.4 is out.
