Where's Froyo for the Fascinate?

Something I learned early on when reading posts (2 years in Crackberry before here) about leaks, releases and updates: Principle #1 - "I spoke to a Verizon Rep" = Means nothing. Posting a comment regarding this conversation serves a purpose for the poster. You can take from it what you want. Leave the rest.
Principle #2 - Most of the 'Verizon Reps' know the same thing we know. Sometimes less. It is more of a test to see if they know more than we do roaming the forums.

Can be entertaining to watch how wild the stories can become.

+1million. Trust the leaks, trust the modders, trust your dog... DON'T TRUST VERIZON REPS! When was the last time they were honest to you? If I came up to you and said "Can i borrow a thousand bucks... I will have it back to you tomorrow" would you tell me to sod off? What if I said "i will have it back to you tomorrow... with froyo" ? Why would you all of a sudden believe me? Too much emotion is being invested in this. WAY too much.

Call me silly, but another BIG feature of Froyo, for me at least, is the option to sort contacts by last name.

I had to go through all sorts of unnatural acts to get 2.1 to do that...

As far as Verizon Reps go, it is not their fault ...to a certain degree. I don't know for sure but in my opinion they are trained to sell (and help customers with) the devices they already have in their current versions and not to let customers in on verizon's future plans on upgrades or upcoming devices, unless it is something that has been officially announced.
Many a times the reps don't know the answers to our questions. I once was talking to a rep last summer and I mentioned I was waiting for the Fascinate. She said she did not know they were getting a new Samsung device and had not even heard of Fascinate.

the stock contact app sorts by last name by defualt. not real sure why you had issues with it.

Yup! And Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Amelia Earhart are already running Froyo on their Fascinates, so we know it's coming soon.

(I heard directly from a guy who works in software development at Verizon and whose wife works for Samsung that the only reason Amelia went off course was because she couldn't get a GPS lock on her Fascinate.)
