Please Remember, Tmo announced the Vibrant 4g then within a couple days said 2.2 tomorrow. Verizon is launching a 4g Samsung phone with 2.2. Once that gets it's official name and launch date, we will see Froyo.
We will probably not know early, it will be announced and we will see it in a day out trip after. Besides, over in the Vibrant forums, people are complaining that Froyo was rushed now. They threatened a lawsuit, now they are complaining that is was rushed. Let them do their job and we will get a nice, non_buggy version.
Of yeah, all Galaxy S phones were updated Via Kies. So ours will be too. Don't be surprised when that is the way to get your update. I used it to update a friends Vibrant and it worked more smoothly than the ota with dl09. It will come and when it does, trust me every blog will report it.

I don't believe the whole "lets wait so that way, we'll get a non-buggy version" because no matter how long the update takes, it always brings its own set a problems. So I'd rather have it sooner rather then later because at least it will fix a lot of the issues that people currently have.
we already have a buggy 2.2. i will take a buggy 2.2 from sammy now so our devs can make it better like they have everyother release from vzw and sammy. Ill take a jt or adry 2.2 over sammys any day.
take this information like a grain of salt ..... but my wife called verizon asking about the Bionic because her new every two is up. She also *****ed about my Facinate for me and they rep said we would see Froyo no later than Mid Feb.
I thought I was reading something in the Vibrant forums about mini kies being incompatible with 64 bit versions of windows, is that still the case?

Lol, wives are great. Hope I'm one one day...I'm good at complaining to companies on the phone. 
Really the only reason i want 2.2 is so that i can get rid of the ten+ apps that i have in appbrain under apps i will get when 2.2 comes out. Every day i see more and more 2.2 only apps.
punkkaos, i'm sure you guys have heard of him by now, just posted a pic of a froyo kernel from samsung. Not 100% that its for cmda fascinate or anything, but he sure as hell is hinting at it.

Yeah it's definitely exciting. For a while there I was beginning to think that Devs had forgotten about us 
Wow this is like the longest i have seen this go with out being at the top. Has eveyone just gave up on 2.2 or is it just everyones now happy with the phone. I love it and now I have started on rooting it so its even more fun. Just wanted to say i think its the longest we have gone with out someone saying that they talked to vzw and 2.2 is coming about in 2 days or that they just read that 2.2 wont happen but we are going to get 3.0 somthing crazy like that. Come on people i get bored at work i need to read somthing that makes me feel all warm and happy in side.
That's funny. I feel the same way. My Monday was just trashed when I got a package in the mail that was ripped open and is stamped "RECEIVED W/O CONTENTS". That was those Bucky Balls (magnetic balls) from Tanga.com. Only $10 (normally $30). Damn P.O. stole my magnets.
No good Froyo news and no magnets - Bad Monday!

I know Elf the Droid X with it funny looking back and its dumb 2.2 and Gingerbread build. Stupid phone lol my phone poops on the Droid X.
