For someone who has lived with the iPhone X and XS Max for over a year, the Hole Punch is a breath of fresh air honestly. I thought at first it was a bad idea, but now, I think its the best idea yet. The notch takes up so much space at the top and in videos that its annoying.

I know that and I am not. If I am going to have to downgrade functionality in order to keep up to date, then I think that it would be a nice option to make it go away somehow. Someone said that there is a setting to blank the screen around it and not have the hole stand out. If so, I have every intention of using it from the moment that I upgrade my Note 9

Yes there is a way to black out the top where the cutout is

Everyone is different. Some people like big bezels. The notch or the hole doesn't bother me. The average person doesn't even know what it is. I look at it as the Notches generally house more stuff so they have to be bigger. The alternative is to redesign or take away features. I'm not much for making my choices on appearance so I get what I like.

If everybody hadn't complained so much about the notch we wouldn't have the hole punch. And honestly it's a lot over nothing ether way.
Just like the glass backs and non removal batteries. That only came about from the complaints over plastic backs ....
And what's crazy is most people use case anyway.

I recall a lot of people complained about the pixel 2 XL bezels which is why Google went with the notch. Seems a bezel less design is what people want. I for one don't mind a small bezel if it would've saves the notification led. Samsung did it right with the s9 and note 9. Shame they didn't just stick with what works. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Really? Because everyone would then be complaining that they're releasing the same stale design year after year. Look at all the complaints the iPhone 7 got for being too much like the 6. Companies are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Exactly, no matter what the company does, there will be complaints. This release may not be for certain people. Nobody is forced to get the s10, vote with your wallet

Preorders are apparently less than previous devices. If true, not pegging it on the hole as much as current phones are still just as good for most folks.

Yep, I find the IMO display disruptive hole so silly, I left the spellcheck error alone as tribute. Still should put parentheses....

Yes there is an option, which makes the actual non impeded viewing area smaller of course. Makes it a 6" display rather than a 6.4".

One of the better reviews liked everything pretty much on on S10+ but he felt power button placement was high. Probably be would be for me too but that's minor.
