Why are my pictures blurry?

I've just noticed this more recently. I've taken pictures of my nephew at events and they are blurry. I've tried cleaning off the lens and zooming in and out to no avail. Any ideas? Could it be a setting or an update that messed it up? Thanks.

Samsung phones tend to not do well with shots that involve movement.

I've never had this issue before though.

It could be that the lens is scratched, which can happen if there's no protector on it. If you take a photo with a light source directly in it and you see light streaks or general haze, then that's your problem. The only solution would be to replace the lens/unit in question.

I do have a protector over the lens unit. I could try to remove that and see if it makes a difference.
