Why do people buy Samsung Galaxy Phones?

Let's just get to the heart of the matter. You're obvious and transparent "passive-aggressive" need to insult anyone that doesn't think, agree or choose what you choose is simply your way of justifying your own choices. If you were truly secure in your own choices you would not need to try and make others feel bad about theirs. A secure person would not do this.
As I said before, text book Freud or Psych 101.

Are you actually rofl-ing do you have any pictures video eye witnesses to back up this claim?

I'm removing the note series as I haven't used it and can therefore have no opinion particularly. And why not buy the nexus 5 if You're just going to change the UI to it anyway?

Oh and to the person requesting pie charts and graphs to justify my opinion ...Get a grip I don't like sprouts do I need a pie chart for that too

The note 3 has the SAME ui as the Galaxy s4 but is 0.7 inches bigger and comes with A stylus .... I actually had the Nexus 5 but battery life personally was crap and no wifi calling ( T-mobile)

Only in forums like this could this conversation be had. Anywhere else and we'd get laughed at for giving this topic as much attention as we have. Thank goodness for AC. That said, it does seem kinda...weird...to dislike/hate a company unless they have attacked/wronged you personally...but that's just my take on it.

Android, even in that iteration, had more capability than iOS does today. It wasn't and still isn't as well executed but to argue that iOS is more feature packed is a bit comical.

It was probably functional when it worked, but the problem was that Eclair 2.1 was a terrible version of Android, and couldn't be counted on to run smoothly without freezes and reboots, among other things. While the iPhone 4 ran like a clock. I had a phone with 2.1, so I am not a stranger to it.

You said it yourself, marketing. No other company has put a thought towards marketing like Samsung so I doubt Android would have been as prominent as it is without Samsung's marketing. Not only that Samsung is the only manufacturer in the world who can make everything about their devices in house. Processor, screens, software, it all can be made by them. They were the only manufacturer to throw devices at very price point and it paid off for them big time.

Sony?

Sony does not make processors and does not have the vertical integration Samsung has. Hell, Samsung made their own in house devices devoid of Android a couple years ago and had more market share than WP for a while, anyone remember the Bada devices?

I'm not hating on a product because it's cool .[language removed by moderator] I have used the phone and not hating because I can and have expressed my reasons behind this

And who is to say that if it wasn't for Samsung android wouldn't be as strong I'm fairly sure people would still buy the phones and something else would come along

That comment was to anybody and not directed to anybody ....

Samsung for all intent and purposes started the Android craze you see today.... There is a reason why Samsung sells more Android phones then anybody else and why Apple is suing Samsung and not other companies for a Billion and then some

The iPhone did and still does, IMO, offer a very smooth experience. ...but that experience doesn't offer as much as android in terms of capability, customizability, or hardware choices. However, what it does do it does pretty durned well. ...just glad I'm back to android...for now.

Actually, Apple apps crashed 2.4 percent of the time while 2.1 Android had a rating of 2.1 (Haha, funny) It was more stable though certainly not as smooth (Though much smoother than other Android phones due to the hardware acceleration in Touchwiz, Samsung was the first to use GPU acceleration)

I started Android use with the Dream/G1 and have used all OSes since including two of the US variants of the galaxy S (Vibrant and Captivate) and at the time, I'd have taken Android any day. Apple didn't even have a feature I found to be exceptional prior to Siri and even now, Siri is lagging behind both Cortana and Google Now.

Well thank you how much do I owe for that analysis doctor I'm sure there are plenty of scenarios of people not choosing what I have done I just have a dislike of the phones and like I've said put this up (although I stand by what I've said) to get a good debate going not due to any passive agressive behaviour

Samsung still has it's own OS and about to push it in Russia where it can very well succeed with... Tizen can be a very attractive OS for phones in developing countries or countries where Top end smartphones are crazy amount of $$$ like India

My defense is that, I don't understand how you can dislike a company that does nothing to you. That's my point. Did Samsung rob your family member or something? I know before they were copycats but know they are a household name in smartphone and make good phones. That's why I don't understand dislike/hate towards them. If you don't like their products fine. But I am pretty sure there are things in the world that are better deserving of hate or dislike.

But like your post this is an opinion and nothing more.

You can dislike a company that like apple doesn't meet health & safety standards for its employees. Also avoids corporation tax but they all do that. Ok let me clarify I dislike the Fact that it comes across to me personally that in the S Range and weirdly not the Note range that very little thought has gone into it other than wee will throw in a bit of this and a bit if that and a but if the other.

A fingerprint reader that from many reviews doesn't work effectively and a heartrate monitor come on how many will use that regularly?

You have the right to act on Samsungs defence, just as much as I have the right to prosecute for releasing a below par device lol

Seriously though some elements of the S5 are fine, but for the majority I personally think that a very lazy approach is being adopted by Samsung.
Hey its business if you can establish a brand and get it to stick in minds, you can then reduce man hours for the device, lower production cost by building as cheaply as possible and in turn make huge profits.

They kinda need to with Apple constantly suing them lol

You come off like Samsung hurt you personally. That's my point. But it's not only you, I see this multiple times on the web when it comes to stuff Samsung related.
