Samsung makes damn good phones and has very effective marketing. People wouldn't keep buying Samsung devices if they were junk, just sayin'.

I hated the S3, but loved my Note 2. As for the feel of the phone, it's plastic and I don't care for it, but marketing can make people buy the Blackberry Curve and think it was the best thing out. Doesn't mean it is or ever was, but people will believe it. Ever watch the WWE on TV... LOL

I think you are over exaggerating. People aren't as dumb as you say, if Samsung devices were trash they wouldn't get keep buying them. But Samsung does make good devices so there is no complaint. OP just wanted a Samsung circlejerk thread.

Right just to respond my point wasn't about HTC in general it was about the sheep like mentality of ooooh it's a Samsung I must buy it rather than looking at the 4-5 better devices that exist (Sony z2 HTC one m8 LG g2 and g3 or even nexus 5 over in UK anyway don't really know if there are others available in US? Moto X maybe?) And in regards to the person who posted every manufacturer ever it wasn't the use of plastic it was the use of flimsy cheap feeling plastic that I was on about

Really? I went through 5 S3's and not one was worth a dang. But I didn't say people are dumb, but if you ever watched WWE you would notice how people tend to believe what they want. My wife screams at the TV when she watches it.But with the right advertising, you can sell ice cubes to those who live in the north pole!!! I think the S5 has it's advantages, and so does the HTC One. I love my Lumia 1520, but needed the apps that are on the Androids. So no phone is perfect. But I don't bash Samsung because they sold US Cellular crappy S3's... (There was lots and lots of complaints from those) I just don't really care for the plastic feel myself. But that doesn't mean the phone isn't one of the best out there.
This month's "Samsung design sucks" thread brought to you by chris2707!
Basically, the galaxy S, the original, was the first quality Android device that could rival the iPhone in any regard.
You are joking, right?![]()
I'm actually with you OP. I have never used an OEM or a phone as bad as the Galaxy S4 and I've used several cheap Chinese and Korean devices that charged a quarter on the dollar of what Samsung does. Not one of them felt so cheap or fell apart so much.

No, that's a fact. Look at every Android phone prior to that. They all looked like toys. The Galaxy S ripped off the iPhone in several ways and thus was comparable.
It had comparable looks, but it certainly couldn't rival the iPhone in any functional or performance matter.

im going to go with marketing muscle as well. What other company can actually make people think they need all the useless crap that Samsung throws into every single one of its phones? Most of the bloat that comes included with TouchWiz is a one trick pony, and gets forgotten about after its first usage.
Also, Samsung seems to be, in my opinion, geared towards people who just want something that works. Those who dont want to tinker with it, and those that dont really care about how it looks. I had the s4 (got it free for Black Friday) for a total of 4 months and sold it away, I just couldnt stand it! Its only redeeming feature was the removable battery. The SD card was all but useless and just tossed in to shut people up about its massive space eating UI (again with alot of useless junk). I dunno, ive just always seen the Galaxy series as marketed towards older people, kids, and generally those who dont know any better lol
When I get asked by friends what phone to buy, I always tell them..If they want gimmicks and fluff that will lose its luster after a few uses..go with Samsung!
I have noticed a lot of the Samsung defenders use the note n not galaxy series ....wonder why that is haha and I repeat my problem is with the galaxy series and their poor build quality and same design, not to mention the useless UI (in my opinion) and yes I have used these devices before so I have some basis for my opinion of which I am perfectly entitled to share on a public forum as is everyone else with theirs on here.....

Galaxy S definitely did have it's faults but it really blew the iPhone of it's time away.
