Why do people buy Samsung Galaxy Phones?

Lots of trolling so far... let's try to not do that. If you don't have something productive to add and/or you cannot post in a respectful way (see PUPPAH), then don't post.

Short list of inappropriate things going on so far:

Inappropriate language, trolling, disruptive posting, personal attacks/insults and trolling.

I never said I like everything. Don't put words where there weren't any. I said I don't dislike anything. Which mean there is stuff I like and stuff I feel indifferent about.

Eh that makes little to no sense what so ever, don't put words where there aren't any, you said "I don't dislike anything" so the opposite to that is you like everything or now by the latter part you sit on the fence neither liking or disliking.

So let me get this right what your saying is

What I am saying is there is products I like and products I don't care about and I don't give a thought to them. What's so hard to understand?

... ... ...

Wow, never knew you have to either like or dislike everything.

So random person having connectivity problems means Samsung has terrible radios? There is even a post two down from the OPs that say they have no connectivity problems.

That's better. But that's only the GS3. If it would be more than that particular model I would believe it.

There is the Galaxy Nexus as well. Search for that and you will find threads on it. The S4 has some too but not as many as the S3. The S3 was my primary concern because we had to exchange THREE of them until we got a good one.

I have had numerous phones over the years and contacted to several different carriers. I started into the mobile communication Era back with bag phones and beepers! Progressed through bar phones, flip phones, and resistive to capacitive touch screens. That being said, I have had a Galaxy S2 and now my Note3. I definitely miss my hard keyboards like on the Palm Centro and Palm Pre and the HTC Arrive. I really miss Palm, but many of their folks are programming for Android and the more intuitive easy to use and customizable features of Android likely come from former Palm people. Samsung's large market share is because they have so many different devices with practically every major and minor carrier. I liked the S2 and have it to a friend when I got my Note3. He really likes the S2. Neither of these devices feels cheap, nor have they been problematic. I am not deluded to think that carrier troubles equate to device problems. And device troubles are not necessarily a result of software issues. I did experience major device problems back with the Trees, but the Palm software was still tops IMO . Samsung does offer nice integration with appliances, media devices and mobile devices, which is a great selling point for some folks. I know I am looking forward to getting a Samsung TV in the future. I also can see me using this Note3 for a very long time unless Samsung offers a note with a hard keyboard (until then I use a bluetooth keyboard at home).

A bit of pocket fuzz from my Note3

You actually do think that android 2.1 was smoother and more stable than iPhone 4? You are delusional.

Nope, just that apps crashed less and that is proven. Funny how you started out at iOS being more functional and are now really reaching.

Not insurmountable proof but proof nonetheless. I am still hard pressed to say they make terrible radios though. I guess isolated incidents and mass production are the culprits.

If you do a little research you will find thousands of US Cellular customers had reception problems with the GS3. I had 5 of them before I gave up and had them replace the 5th phone with a different model. It was a lower quality phone, but reception was a lot better than the GS3. But the Note2 was a really good phone, just found it too big...

Most people buy Samsung devices because they are sheep! Plain and simple! that explains why most of the Apple sheep that switch to Android buy androids version of the sheep phone! In the end really, who cares?

That's US Cellular not Samsung. Sounds like the complaint should be with the carrier.

I don't know, calling someone sheep means you took the time to come up with a name and to make this post about how Samsung is the number one choice of those who switch to Android, you do care.

If that was true, then all phones would have had bad reception, but it was only the GS3. My Note2 always had 5 bars. Most of the affected USCC customers believed that Samsung sold them all their crappy phones. Samsung put out a recall on the USCC phones, and eventually replaced most of them. So it was Samsung's fault. But like I said, I hated the S3, but don't hate Samsung because of it. I do like the Note series, and if the S5 had front speakers I would bought it.

Is it a giant marketing thing or are the general public that stupid ?? I've used the s2 and s3 and didn't get it back then. The design is awful they all look pretty much the same, they feel cheap and plastic for an apparent high end phone and even the UI looks tacky I'm sorry but when paying this money aesthetics matter, especially when the internals are fairly similar at this level. I just think it's laziness on behalf of the consumer who'll buy one just coz its a Samsung....

(I'm removing the note series from this as I've never used or held one to make any judgement)

First off, the average person isn't a phone enthusiast. They see catchy ads on tv, or the sales person hypes up certain phones, and they bite.

There's really not much more to it than that. You see, people like us hang out in forums like this because we care. Joe six-pack doesn't.
