Why isn't my Moto G 2nd gen connecting to my home wifi network?

My Moto g 2nd gen is not connecting to my home wifi network.

I got my moto g 2nd gen today and it dosen't connect to my home wifi network but it connects to my other mobile with wifi hotspot turned 'on' on the latter. It keeps on saying authenticating or obtaining IP address. And if i leave the moto g for some time like that it says avoided connection due to poor internet connection. I have also turned off the 'Avoid poor connections' option but still the mobile doesn;t connect. Please help. Thanks!!
