Does your WiFi MAC address change after every reboot?

I updated to Android M DP2 today, everything worked out fine except for this issue. After flashing the new OS, I left the OEM lock status unlocked, so I thought, that was the problem, so I locked it again and pure ****... Nothing happened and its the same. I'm 100% sure this is a software issue, this never happened on Lollipop.

In case anyone finds a fix, please do post it here.

------------- Update --------------

After multiple reboots and once entering the recovery mode, which failed to load and displayed the android lying down with its tummy open and an exclamation mark sitting on it. I can't enter the recovery mode now.

------------- Update --------------

I flashed the factory Lollipop 5.1 image and this seems to have the problem fixed. I have my old MAC address back now. However, I still can't go to recovery mode.

That is unfair but as a WiFi connection owner I do not allowed strangers to use my WiFi connection for free and unlimited I have my own strategy to control all my WiFi guest because I am using a software as a controller of my access point and I monitor all of the WiFi users every single day and they paid for me to be able them to have WiFi connection.

i dont think its limited to any mac address, mine starts with 00:08,i think its a google system issue so far the only thing i have with the issue of changing mac address is with the kitkat4.4.2 system,my kitkat 4.2 or 4.0 doesnt do it,i was told to send mine back for a replacement..

Dear user,
It seems that u didint backed up ur nvram while flashing custom rom.
That means ur imei number will also have problem.
since this problem is related to multiple wifi mac id generations, then the following link can help u solve ur problem like mine.
but a total factory rest could revert the normal ting.
Before getting freaked out let me tell u,
'wifi nvram 0x10 ' and 'multiple wifi auto-generations after reboot' problem's solutions are same.

I have just placed an order for three CUBOT GT72+ phones.

I was completely astonished that it changed it's MAC address in this way.

On my business network, I have controlled access rights that must fundamentally depend on the PHYSICAL (MAC) of the device attempting to connect to the network.

I would go so far as to suggest that this is a ludicrous state of affairs; it's like allowing interchangeable passports or ID cards.

To say that this is a 'financial' issue between Google and any particular maker of a handset has to be a total crock - neither company are hardly skint.

This has serious implications for access security and is something that I feel needs to be publicized in order to shame these companies into getting this problem fixed!

Hopefully the fix can be implemented with a software patch, otherwise the handset manufacturers whose handsets have this FAULT will simply have to recall them and replace them with handsets that do not have this fault.

My previous CUBOT didn't have this fault, so why should a later model?

It's like a going to sleep as banana and waking up as a peach the following morning!

S,
J!

We have two Android tablets, and they both change their Mac address's. The Laser tablet changes it's mac address about every week or so, and the Pendo tablet changes it's Mac address whenever it is reset or battery goes flat. Two different manufacturers. Different Android versions, different kernel versions. We only know this as the router has Mac address filtering, so I suspect many more do it, but the owners are not aware of it. It is a pain in the neck.

:'( I guess this is something to do with all Samsung phones. I also have a Samsung phone and the MAC address changes each time as mentioned above (restart).

My Mac Address starts at 00:08 and it changes everytime i reboot. My device is a cheap China made 3G Tablet called MODOEX M66.
