My LG V20 got soaked with saltwater on the lower part where the usb c port is, so is my battery. Just the lower part. So now, i didnt use it for 2 days and dried it up with the use of silica gels to remove moisture. I tried to open it. It vibrated. But the screen didnt work. The lower part of the screen had a little bit of white on the lower left part which i think was the dried up salt water. Even the usb c port had the same. It might have been corroded? I want tk retrieve my files on my phone, specifically the internal memory files. Can i still retrieve it? Also, will my phone still work like it was before? I am on vacation and now i dont have a phone to use.

Try searching phone fell in salt water. I have seen pote tial. cures presuming you removed the battery in time. I seem to recall washing in distilled water then 100% alcohol. Maybe 1 chance in 20 of success but read up. There are suggested treatments. Don't go by my memory.

In salt water your odds are terrible, and even worse if you powered it up.

Good chance something important got shorted.

I have a rescue procedure for these circumstances but the odds of it working for you given the power-up are near zero. I'll write it up if you'd like.

It's possible to recover the files.. if it still turns on and you hear sounds, you might be able to. Just unlock the phone (if you can) and then connect it to your PC. Then drag everything out of the phone to your computer.

BTW next time buy a waterproof phone bag when you go on vacation.. even if you have a water-resistant phone, salt water or chlorine will damage it still. They are like 8 bucks on Amazon, they lock and seal pretty well, you can still take pictures through the clear bag.
