With the end of the Note, are you done upgrading? Are you done with Samsung?

I I am betting, like the S21, the next Note does not have a SD slot. This seems to be a trend in current Android devices. The replaceable battery went several years ago, and now phones with SD slots are hard to find. It is all about $$$.

I'm using a reader with an SD card to "offload" stuff I don't need on the phone, and my Photos app backs up a lot of what I do wanna keep automatically, but I even have to clean 'junque' out of it. I'm seriously considering using my PayPal app that gets my Surveys credit to expand my storage substantially. The backup cards get stowed in a safe for future usage. There are options, at least. And considering I've had a phone blank out an SD card (fried) completely, I'm not quite as upset about Cloud and hard backups as I used to be. Improvise, adapt, overcome.

The Note isn't gone.....it's evolved and blended

If what we see with the Fold 3 is what you mean by evolved and blended... an S-Pen compatible device with the pen being a separate item to buy just for basic writing and a more expensive pen for features that would normally come standard with the Note pen... and no built-in silo to hold the pen without a special case to add to the size of the package...

The Note is gone.

It's just called "an accessory" now. :)

Or the Galaxy N Note. It's a shame, because I really do love the Note line, upgrading from the Note 9 to the Note 20 reaffirmed that.

The Note is gone.

We shall see

Well, I hope previous talk of a 2022 model... "last model" can be called, will happen. Call is a Note 20FE "Farewell Edition" :p

Can they though if they didn't register the trademark?

A moment of silence for the fallen trademark since... 2011??

Another thing the S series most likely coming at end of the year so what does Samsung have planned in between Series and Fold , something to think about. Too much of a time period gap between S series and when the next Fold would be displayed

Probably nothing... Doing a quick glance it looks like they stay busy releasing phones all year. I see difference A series models release at different times during the year along with their M series... which is their bread and butter, right??

They show off the tech with S series but they sell less and less of them with every year. But if rumor true I feel they should move the S release earlier before the end of year to take advantage of the holidays along with the Z series release just like Apple does. How many sales do they lose because they announce after the new year where people have already spent there money during Christmas and Apple has people hyped up for their product right before the holiday season?

Then they would have trademarked "N" or "Note" again. It's no longer it's own model that use to showcase the latest tech... processor, screen, etc... before the S would get it. It's an afterthought to another product. They might just tease you selling a Galaxy S22 "Note" or Galaxy Fold 4 "Note" and you find that... it only came with the Pro pen and phone case with silo as part of the package.

Im referring to their high end phones , they don't move things around just to move , something cooking. Did you hear them officially announced the Note is done ? Just because s21 got a pen and the fold got a pen doesn't cement the Note dead , they wanted to use the Spen across more devices for awhile now but they don't have a place to put it like the Note series, you like the options they give with the s21 and fold 3 where to store your pen ? I don't. And if they make a device that can store it in the phone like the Note , well I don't care what they name it , it's a Note to me lol

I think Samsung may merge the s series and the Note line together as a hybrid phone.

Each year they bring these two phone's closer together in the way of specs.

So there's not much difference between them now especially as the s21 now has the ability to be used with a sPen.

So it's possibly down to how they house the sPen and the aesthetics of the phone.

Realistically, they're pretty close, with a few minor exceptions, and the S-pen being the primary one.

Well word was because of the pandemic and how if affected sales, they released the S21 a few months earlier to get a start on sales earlier. Just my guess but with word that sales of S21 failed to pass S20 sales (and remember we're talking S20 sales can be blamed on pandemic... you'd think no way they could sell less even if they tried to tank), they are just releasing even earlier now... maybe to try to use the holidays as a better jump start.

No just because the S and Z got pens doesn't say the Note is dead but like you said if they can make ANY series and add a silo... it's a Note. But inversely, any phone that they just sell a pen and case to hold it?? ... That is no Note to me.

No, no official announcement... just talking but little signs. The latest that they are did not trademark "Note" anything... it looks like it is no longer it's own model line.

I've said often... I hope it's wrong and past rumors of a skip this year and a promise from some exec next year comes true... even if that could be the last model. My N20U could last 3 years but if they did release next year, I'd get it just to have if it looks like the last model year.

If they don't... I'll move on. I'll definitely go year three with my N20U and after that I'm not against the S series or another Samsung. But I can be ok with Apple or another if another phone sounds like it will be fun.

So Samsung has to think how this going to unravel the S eries and fold series each have their pen but no where to place in the phone like a Note series , that's why they have different names just a pen added as a standalone feature . The moment they do install a slot in a S series or fold then it would be associated with name Note , example s22 series then s22 Note editon or fold 4 then fold 4 Note edition . If they don't name it that way would be stupid to me because it's a Note
