WOW! Samsung lowering S21 shipments from 35m to 26m! Samsung customers have spoke. The S21 is a flop

How exactly are they "woefully inadequate" in the software support department?

I meant woefully inadequate compared to Apple....who is their main competitor in the ultra premium sector. If they want to charge more than Apple, and be looked at like Apple, they have to offer Apple-like services. And Apple destroys them in the software support areas, including length of time, number of phones supported for that length of time, buggy software etc. Google still does a better job and they're tiny in the phone arena compared to Samsung.

I know they're trying to step it up, but I don't think the value is there software support wise for the prices they're charging ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Samsung offers the best hardware in the business. Better than Apple, better than LG, better than Google.

The have every right to change high prices for it, even with so called "imperfect" software.

Ever since the S5 when I saw a report of how much more it was to make than the iphone 6 despite Samsung model containing a polycarbonate back and Apple metal back. It's no secret that the UW 5g chips seem to be one of the most expensive components. I feel the only way Apple is able to keep the prices where they are without decreasing their profit margin is because of the volume that they sell. Either way it go I appreciate Samsung's hardware and software especially now with Microsoft integration.

Are we really that surprised with Samsung leaving the brick out though? Regardless of their bashing ads we knew it was coming when they started to take out the headphones. It gets me that people think taking the sd slot out is "following Apple". I love my sd slot as much as anyone, but it's something I knew would be coming around again as I don't think the masses care if they have one or not especially since the only other manufacturer to still use it in flagships is LG. Now MST I didn't see coming but I'll digress as I've spoken enough on it. My biggest complaint with the S21 series is that it should've been at least 256gb(at least on the Ultra) base wise. Due to the awesome trade-in deals I won't be surprised when they report the S21 out selling the S20 two to one.
For me it's only going make me hang on my phones little bit longer then usual, but I agree

Yea I only ordered the S21 Ultra due to the stellar deal I received, but wondering if I should've just held off for the Z fold 3bas I could easily continue to use my note 20 Ultra for the next year or so as my main device. Cellular technology is moving at a snail's pace compare to previous years.

Was mostly about the battery for me. Was starting to feel like my S10e was never off the charger.

Plus the S21 ultra has a lot of cool features to never use, I like that in a phone lol.

Ha ha right. I'm a sucker for new things that I won't use. I was so excited when the note brought live messages. Used it when it first came out and have forgotten that it still exist years later

I've been tempted on the s21U not going lie lol
And have phones for the trade in but I think I'll hold off until the Note 21 :))

That means diddly, when they remove features that afford differentiation. They are losing share to Apple and not helping themselves. They dropped their retail sales outlook by millions from an already flu conservative outlook.

My marketing head can't wrap around how (as example) removing the SD slot will help sales. It obviously is not.

Yeah, clearly I can't state for certain, but I imagine Samsung planned on a dip in sales, as did most of the industry.

Calling it a "flop" seems a bit extreme.

You misunderstand. It means a lot to those that do not care about losing those features.

How can you not wrap your head around a company saving money during a pandemic? Isn't that what we're all doing?

There's three reasons I didn't buy an S21 and none of them are related to losing external storage or MST even thought I like MST.

Don't know how much MST and card slot costs. But I was not going to pay S20 price with a Note 10+ in hand. Simply not worth it. I wanted the Ultra for it's big battery among other things and they pretty much pegged my price limit for a 256 gb device. I tried the Pro Max 12 and think it is already quite a bit differentiated from the Samsung flagship.

I like to hear your 3 reasons?

Reason #1 I have an S20 Ultra that performs quite well.

Reason #2 The S21 was released to soon for me to even consider upgrading from the S20

Reason # 3 I have a Note 20 Ultra which for me is a better device.

I probably will breaking away from owning an S series and Note series at the same time. For the future I will probably upgrade my S20 to a Note 21 and upgrade my Note 20 to a third Gen fold if I like what I see.

Cool , nothing wrong with that :)

i still doesn't understand why people with like the iPhone 12 max and or a note 20 or a s20 series phone are talking and even complaining about the s21 .... people having the s10 and older devices maybe are expecting something new to upgrade .... imaging if we didnt accepted the fat that computers upgrade from floppy disk to the diskettes to the cd and most recently nothing, if you like old school go get the blackberry.

people have the right to complain, just like you have the right to complain about the complainers. Some wanted to get the phone but because of the missing features, they can't or won't now. Enough people complain and the features might return. It worked once before when the microsd card was originally eliminated from Samsung phones. Couple models later, it was back, until now.

Because people wanted to upgrade, and hate feeling like they're missing out on the shiny new release.

Samsung may at some point bring back all these features...and then significantly up the price.

And then the complaints about the price will resurface.

And round and round we go ...lol
