My experience went just like his I walked in on launch day I knew I wanted to get the GN and the first words from the first Rep that welcomed me was "hi how are.you can you please sign in to.be help would you like to play with the new Droid RAZR. Or iPhone 4s while you wait" I said no I'm here to.buy a GN and his face was like awe damn another one there where 6 people there and we all walked out with a GN. Like it was said in a comment before the GN is Google's baby and Verizon wants to push its Android line that makes them money and also meet Apple's demand on selling the iPhone

maybe because the nexus at this point is a buggy piece of crap that cant get a signal for nothing. look around at all the complaints......

It's no more buggy than any other phone at release. To quote you, "look at all the complaints......" I've owned 9 Android phones since November 2009 and even sullied myself with 2 iPhones, each and every phone had some issue that needed resolving! So I guess the question here is, "Why you so angry bro?"

Absolutely, positively, 100 percent incorrect. In my over five years with the company, there has never been any kind of "push" or incentive to "push" one phone over the other. We don't get paid on phones. There's a definite "push" on smartphones in general, but never ever one model over another. Imagine the legal battles between the manufacturers if this was the case.

That may be true, but have you seen any Verizon based Galaxy Nexus commercials? I've seen plenty of Razr and Rezound ones however. So it appears that there is some favoritism going on with or without it being explicitly mentioned.

I've learned not to argue with idiots cause they just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I find myself wondering if the razr is so great and people are loving it, why are they reading galaxy Nexus posts? Maybe they just don't have near the developer support that the Nexus has and are looking for some advice or just trolling because they are bored.

Razor is a snazzy phone don't get me wrong but personally a razr and $50 wouldn't get my nexus out of my hands. To each their own I guess. I'm glad people are liking their phones.

I went into my Verizon store on the day the Nexus came out. Not only was there ZERO fanfare (it was at the back of the store, after you pass the Android tablets, iPhone and iPad and Droids, mixed in with a number of other phones like the Rezound), but the one example they had on display was the ONLY display model in the store with a tie-wrap going around it and bisecting the middle of the screen.

Huge contrast to the day they got the iPhone.

The store I went to didn't even have a demo unit

Our goal has been 60% smart phone mix across the board. Our goals have NOTHING to do with any specific phone. I along with every other sales rep, direct or indirect, could care less what phone you buy.

Truth is ladies and gentlemen. Store reps respond to the reputation of the manufacturer within the store. My cousin works for Verizon and they do not get paid any different for selling one smartphone vs another. The attitude your rep had may have very well been the result of the various bugs with the last versions of the Galaxy phones such as the Fascinate or Charge. Reps troubleshoot all day long and my cousin said that the fascinate had various problems bringing a lot of troubleshooting in to his store. So it is not that Verizon pushes the Razr only. They do however emphasize on advertising the Razr publicly and within the company. I am a fan of both and am torn as to which one to get. So my advice is choose what makes you happy.

The lady who sold me my Nexus was jealous that she couldn't get hers for a few more weeks. I told her she has my number and can come play with mine anytime ;)

Went in my local store, and actually ended up being the salesperson to the rep. Nexus and Rezound sitting side be side on display. And went over pros and cons of both phones. Rep pulls bionic out of pocket and complains on it. Kinda worried him that I knew more about the devices than he did. He got his boss over there trying to get me hired into "data specialist?" position. All the while I'm watching another rep try to sell the razr to 3 people that walk in. I'm between buying the Rezound or the nexus, but am waiting couple of weeks to see how updates and consumer opinions go on both before pulling the trigger.

While it is true the sales folks do not get paid more for one type of phone to another you cannot deny the obvious. Verizon is not marketing the Gn one bit. All the billboards, commercials, and ads are geared toward HTC and the Razr brands. You cant argue with the obvious here....

Agreed. Just got my nexus today.Rooted it before activation thanks to the info on our android central forum.

In terms of build quality I had a droid x yes it's not steel like the x but it is well made. My battery cover for example fits perfect. In terms poor reception my friends lg revolution will drop 4g as soon as you get on my street where my nexus is getting one bar 4g and downloads at 10mbps. Maybe the software update fixed it or it's a isolated issue like it was for a few droid bionic's when it came out.

Dunno nothing is perfect but I really think this phone is pretty damm good.

I have had absolutely no problems with my galaxy nexus. I always have three to four bars here in Oklahoma City. I'm also getting 27 megs/sec download speed. It is so awesome!

That's how I got into the business and it's been a great climb since then. It was when I was shopping for a new phone and got phones to transfer contacts/pics over bluetooth since the Cellbrite machine wouldn't work. Who knew trying to get on with my purchase could turn into a work opportunity.

Watch out for that label of "data specialist" when it comes to the store positions. They will direct every piece of support on you while taking credit for helping the customer.

Anyway... I've said it before in another thread. Very few Rezound returns compared to any other 199+ 4G phone. That is a pretty big statement. That includes exchanges for the same device. The Rezound is more of a "now and later" phone. Right now with 3G the phone is WCDMA, so that means voice and data options simultaniously. Later 4G on it is super stable and it has average battery life in a below average 4G battery life world. The phone will also get ICS, and you will eventually get full root access. It's a really popular device. Root devs would be crazy not to get onboard.

Im just going to throw in my two cents on this one, but i work for one od the big 4 at a corporate location, and i have never recieved more spiffs or anything for selling one particular device. I am however guilty of this which is what im affraid you ran into. Either (A) they were out of stock on the nexus and wanted the opp, and they most likely have plenty of inventory on the razr because from my understanding its been a bit of a commercial flop. Or (B) they had no accessories in stock for the nexus and didnt want to take a dry opp. I got the nexus on launch day and i am extremely pleased with it. So that is my opinion on the matter.

Paid on contract people. Not the phone you choose. I used to sell wireless. All I cared about was the customer being happy. I sold to their needs. I suggested. Everyone has favorite devices but I made sure the customer had what they wanted and needed
