Is anyone having
flaky issues with the Face unlock feature? I want to use that and a PIN. But it sometimes works and sometimes does not.
Do I have too many other settings enabled perhaps? In the Lock section?
Perhaps sleeping the phone too soon/the timer on that?
Also, the camera shortcut (hold the screen and rotate), when enabled and used seems to bypass security/face unlock. Or is that just my phone as well?
Any other security loopholes found by anyone? I don't think the Sprint model/firmware build has this issue, but I'll ask my friend today.
UPDATE:: the Sprint LOCK screen options seem to be slightly different..you can scroll down a bit to another option or so on Sprint's to choose to lock upon power key press...on AT&T we have 'Secured lock time' which has 'instantly with the power key or when the screen times out'. Perhaps, just in a different place, done a different way...not sure yet.
I wonder if that was the issue, as it seems to be more consistently prompting me to do the face unlock/pin...where it would mostly just bypass and ask for a simple swipe of the screen.
The option 'With swipe lock' brings you to the camera shortcut and other options...I had this checked before, which allowed the bypass to the home screen after the camera shortcut (by pressing back button).
NOW, when I check it and try...after the screen timeout option set to power key and not 15s/3min/5min/etc...it makes me swipe to get to the face unlock, as it should.
So, it seems to be a combination of settings that you need to be careful of. Or perhaps still a bug with the timer...anyone who's had Android OS/Samsung S3/Note1/2 know if this is normal or not?
So, screen timer...anything other than power key locking the screen and you have to wait that long (15s/3m whatever) for the lock to set itself for the next time you wake it up. Otherwise, it is unlocked. Not a bug, but odd...the camera shortcut seems to be not happening in this case either (immediate lock). So, I think I answered my own question
Haven't tried the 'Wake up' voice option yet.
