1.13.604 Update -- Discuss Here (Read Post #1 First)

I have not noticed a difference, what's new? I use a third party app because I don't like how you can't set hour often it updates

What weather widget do you use? Most I've seen either take up too much space and/or keep hitting the CPU in the background regardless of their set update interval.

Just updated dont know if its just a mind trick but the icons seem a little bigger and clearer other then that i have noticed that while on wifi i dont have a 3g connection

Anyone notice their battery charge increase after the update.didnt know an ota update could charge your phone lol.

Looks like another example to the DX's dancing power meter. Reboot and get more power. Of course, later you're at 40%, blink and you're at 5%.

It's bad enough the battery only reads out in 10% increments, but even those are meaningless. The DX has only 3 reliable battery levels:
  • 100% -- You're good
  • 5% -- You're dead
  • All other %'s -- All you know is you're somewhere between 100% and 5%

... One thing I can tell is the phone feels a lot snappier. I've kept all my settings the same and I can notice a difference. Web page scrolling feels quicker and pinch to zoom. Also, editing a text message by dragging your finger to a word, etc is much more fluid.

If Verizon didn't list performance improvement as part of the update list, seems hard to believe it really improved. Placebo effect seems more likely.

Yes! Thats normal. While on Wi-Fi no need for 3G connection.
Awesome phone or the way I put it, a mini computer that can make phone calls:)
I love it!

My battery seems better. Off the charger for about 6 hours and at 70% with moderate usage.

"moderate usage" is not very precise for good comparison.

If you're on auto-brightness, has the light-level been the same where you were yesterday as today? Where you on 3G or WiFi? Equal 3G coverage yesterday and today?

Did you male phone calls (with the screen mostly off) or stream even limited video (with bright screen and full-bore 3G). Both may seem like just moderate use, but 30 minutes of the latter may use as much juice as 2 hours of the former.

The update has been good for me. I mean, not much change, actually. But battery life has been pretty good and should only get better in the next week as it is conditioned.

this is weird. on my old moto droid i use imap for work. had to setup up manually with ports and ssl, tls stuff. now with the dx the imap sets up security for you, you just setup the ports. i can receive fine but cannot send, what do i do?

So im confused, i just got my droid x via fedex earlier today and im still getting all my media and things i need off my blackberry as i type, so when i activate my new phone should i update it or not? I dont wanna ruin it before i even get to enjoy it... please help out here forum, thanks!

I downloaded the update this morning and have been happy. I was experiencing the battery problem where restarting my phone gave me an extra 30%. When my phone hit 30% this evening I restarted it and it read 30% after! I'm sitting at 20% and have been using it moderately for the past 14 hours.

It also seems like the phone is snappier and that webpages zoom and scroll better.

Battery dropped to 40% after only 6 hours off the charger. This is unexceptable to me.

I'm down to 30%, 8.5 hours off the charger with a few phone calls, maybe about 20min worth, a lot of web browsing (mostly over wifi), a lot of music playing using the headphone jack plugged into a stereo system, and maybe about 5-10 minutes of streaming video over youtube. Also just some random twittering through seesmic and dinking around the UI and playing with apps a little bit.
