Android 2.3 Gingerbread EI22 latest build WITH IMAGE

Does GB eliminate that annoying pop-up screen that notifies you that the battery is fully charged? Or at least give you the option to eliminate it or darken it? Pretty disturbing @ 3 or 4 am (plus the tones!)

I have discovered the most brilliant fix for that. At night before I go to sleep I turn my phone face down on the nightstand. No light leaks out at all. Works perfectly. Hope that was helpful, feel free to thank me.

I like that feature, but they could hae an option to disable it.

I also use the "face plant" method but I was hoping to replace my 1980's Sony clock radio with my Epic. At least the Sony only wakes me up in the morning! Also, my wife has threatened to launch the Epic like the last shuttle.

LOL Geezer. I DO use the Epic in the AM for waking purposes but I use a free download called Alarm Klock. The bird sounds are so authentic, half the time we think it's actually birds outside the window.

Sorry peeps eh17 is now the latest.. I still say sept or oct release.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH17 latest build

EH13 and now EH17? Wow... lots of bugs they're working out I guess

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

And now EH18 and silence for days. This must be it?

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

God I hope so. I can't wait for SRF 2.0 or Bonsai v5 on EH18. I'm running Bonsai v5-b15 right now, and although it works, it's not EXT4, still running CIQ and it's journaling enabled, so it seems to lag a bit. However, video calling on Sype over 3G/4G and WiFi works fine. It's not actually that much different than Froyo, but if they get the official switched to EXT4 this will be awesome.

You never know.... We have thought a few times that "this was the one" and then out comes another rdf file or build...

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

I have no idea what they might be fixing, Ive been on EG22 for almost a week and its really sweet. Can't imagine with could be better (cept a GS2 of course;)) I am wondering about EXT4 -= is that something I can achieve now? Any what kind of diff would it make in my phone?

I think there are a few ROMs supporting EXT4 on EG22, you would have to check the ROM threads and see if its listed as supporting it.

As far as difference, it will make your device/file system more effecient and much faster. If you were to run a benchmark on it you would probably see scores in the low to mid 2000 verses the low to mid 1000's on RFS filesystem which is what you have now.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

There are a few EG22 builds running EXT4, however, I would prefer to see it on SRF so I can flash Genocide kernel. I'm getting kinda bored with stock GB, however, I can't really *****.

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

looks like I would need to wipe my phone and reinstall all my data contacts and apps. If I am going to do that, then I am doing it one more time and will wait for hacked final release. EXT4 can wait. Phone is running great.:D

Re: Android 2.3 Gingerbread EH18 latest build

If it was EH17 and then jumped to EH18, then that should be the final build. Why else would they fix something minor (considering it was only a day between the two builds) if it was still in progress?

Yes, it sounds like the removal of debugging code. But I am not the voice of authority.

cmon samsung, my birthdays coming up! how about a present?? :)

Official Gingerbread for Epic?

So I've seen leaked Gingerbread builds, but is there definitely going to be an official Gingerbread release for Epic 4G?

I remember seeing recently that Sprint is End of Lifing the Epic.

Re: Official Gingerbread for Epic?

Yes, there will be an official Gingerbread update for the Epic but after that is when Samsung and Sprint are gng to stop updating the decive. I mean, don't panic. I'm sure there's people out there rocking a Hero running Android 2.1 and the phone works just as well as others. They're doing that to push Galaxy S II and its variants to the customers. I don't know about you but I paid way too much money for this phone ($250) and I will never pay that much money for another one. I looked it up on Best buy. $79.99 so we will be just fine.
