Any EB13 Users get the OTA update to EC05? Post here!

Was gonna wait as Eb13 was running fine. Realized I am waiting for no reason. Did the manual non wipe version and have no complaints thus far.

i have eb13 and still have not received the new update. it is 9pm PST. WHAT IS GOING ON? sounds like NOBODY with eb13 received the update!!!!!!!!!

who else is completely, bone dry, stock Froyo 2.2 EB13, all sprint bloatware, all samsung bloatware, and hasn't received the prompt to update? Are people with EB13 not getting it???

Hey guys, I'm a total "Newb" to cell mods, etc. I bought Epic on "day 1" & live i NY, NY. I didnt get last months update & haven't gotten this one yet(its 12:20 on 3/25/11). Just from reading posts, especially the guys who "totally wiped" their epics to factory default, I've had a thought. The posts I read from the guys who "wiped clean" to default weren't "modded" but still required "full wipe" to get "EC05". My phone isn't "modded" in any way either although I "download" lots of stuff & have used "alternate Home Screen" customization(Ahome, Panda, etc). My "Oper. System" says "2.1 update1". From the posts I read, something tells me that the "OTA update" is looking for Epics that are "as close to factory default" for the phone to be "recognized" as "updateable"!.Like I said, I'm a total "Newb" to all this so I never tried any "mods or roms" & never tried "manual" update either so I believe that I should be as "stock" can be without "wiping to factory default" but I think that the way my phone is now isn't considered "stock" enough for update to get through! Just a thought! Is this possible?

Wow. Your fingers must be very tired by now!

Don't worry, you haven't done anything to your phone that would prevent you from getting OTA updates. Sprint/Samsung are just being slow in pushing the update out to devices because of the miscues that they've previously experienced with Galaxy S updates.

If you're impatient, you can try one of the methods here to upgrade your phone early, but it sounds like you prefer to be on the official upgrade track so you probably won't want to do that.

Update: Just thought I'd point out that I'm on the "official" EB13 via the update.zip method, and I have not yet received EC05.

I just got a notification from Sprint on my Epic4G about Sprint ID and that a software update is coming soon. I am running EB13 that I got from the update.zip method. Hoping to get the EC05 OTA soon.

Hey guys, I got my update FINALLY! I got my Epic on 1st day out & live in Manh, NY. I am a "total Newb" to phones so I have never "rooted, modded, or had OS Roms" on my Epic. The limit of my "customization" is "Panda, Ahome, etc". I didn't get the "EB13" update OTA nor manually cause after hanging out at different forums I was too scared to try it. I just waited & hoped I would get rewarded for my patience. At about "2am" today I was reading the disappointed posts of people waiting and I actually posted a thought I had that the update might not be "recognizing" some phones as "stock" due to some downloads or customizations(not talking about rooting, etc). As I was reading posts the scren suddenly changed to a download box for a "91mb" system update. Since I had previously gone to the "EC05" download link that was posted at the forums I just assumed that I had pressed the "back" button & ended up at the link. But since it was suspicious I exited the browser to check the "update Android" option in the settings menu which has only said "your system is up to date" ever since I got the phone. This time I was shocked to see it say "system update available" and an option on the bottom to "download"! I quickly pressed it & it came in quick with 4G then it said "verifying" and the Download bar filled up again very fast. It then said "download complete, restart needed". I turned it off for 20 min then on just to find nothing changed so I did same thing except I "turned off 4g & downloaded with slower 3g". That time the phone turned off on its own & on the black screen some yellow letters kept popping up saying "updating this, updating that, etc". After it finished it turned on by itself & I checked "about phone" in settings & it said "2.2.1". So far the only problem I've seen is that "my Google acct doesnt recognize my password" & it keeps popping up asking for it when I try to go to "Andr. Market, G-mail, etc"! Anybody know how to fix this or have similar bug?

try using the keyboard and opt to view the password maybe its going in wrong and you dont notice is

I already have that option & I can see my pass. before the letters turn to dots so I know its being typed correct. As a matter of fact, sometimes it accepts the pass. then it asks for me to type crooked letters I see on screen & then goes right back to pass. screen after I type word.

I called Sprint last night about why us folks with EB13 are not getting the update to EC05 like everyone that has DI18. Well after almost 30 minutes on the phone I was told that unfortunately those of us that are on EB13 and have not received the EC05 update yet will have to bring our phones to a Sprint store to have sprint load EC05 on our phones. They said there is a problem that they can't figure out as to why EB13 folks aren't receiving the ota update.

Well that's a bunch a bs I told him, got off the phone, odin'd back to DI18, and updated to EC05, the hell with Sprint.

3/21 - Samsung Epic Maintenance Release (Android 2.2) - EC05

Looks like they are still pushing it out. Now they are claiming older versions than DI18 will be getting the update.
