Any EB13 Users get the OTA update to EC05? Post here!

Went from OTW EB13 to ECO5 after installing and uninstalling app from market. Downloaded in just a minute and loaded so far with no problems and no loss of data or apps.

Thanks to this Forum for alerting me to arrival of update for EB13.

Did the install an app from the market trick like most of the people on here are doing and it worked for me as well. OTW EB13 to EC03 OTA. Installing now...

Update: Install seems fine. All apps seem intact. Unfortunately my SD card issues I had from EB13 are still on this update where my gallery app shows no items and my music player shows no items. Also I can't change ringtones, notification, or alarm sounds. I ran into this issue as soon as I updated from the latest official Eclair build to EB13. Will try and find a fix for myself in another thread. Not sure if my SD card issue is related to either update, but a major assumption as I've only had this problem on both Froyo builds (minus DK28)

Went to app store and didn't even have to download an app before I got the update message. Took just a few minutes over wi-fi. Running EC05 now.

I just got the notification for EC05, restarted and got stuck at a screen with an exclamation mark and the green android guy. Eventually, I gave up and now I'm back to EB13 (at least it's not bricked), but I'm not sure how to restart the update.

I got the same result - got the notification update then got an exclamation point with the little green guy - then clockwork menu came up and I hit reboot on the menu - it rebooted but it is back to EB13 and I can't get the update menu to come back up. have you figured out how to get the update menu to come back? I downloaded an app from the market and that didn't do it..

So as someone mentioned earlier when I first got my update notification, I rushed and pushed "install", my phone rebooted, and I got an error (exclamation point and android robot)... I then tried to reboot again and it took me to a ClockworkMod screen, which reminded me "hey dummy, you're rooted"... I'm guessing (but not sure) that this is why my update failed... perhaps being on EB13 and being rooted was my downfall...

So after a few attempts at rebooting (my phone finally started acting cool again and rebooted with no problems), I checked and saw that I was still on EB13... I finally bit the bullet and used the method of updating to EC05 listed here, which allows you to update without losing data.

Ultimately, I knew that this method was available all along (well for a few days anyway) since I saw it announced a little while ago. I guess I just wanted to see if it was still possible for my phone to get an update notification since it had been SO LONG since I had seen one... plus, I wanted to prove that you can still get them even if you update the manual way and are rooted. Using the method listed, I was able to retain my root (Titanium Backup still works and still has super user rights) AND all my data is intact (all my apps are working and the data is still there, with no loss of my Angry Birds progress :D:p)... so to anyone else that is out there experiencing the same problem, check to see if you are rooted (if you aren't sure or **forgot** like me), and feel free to use the method linked from our super AC Epic community.

I am now happy to say that I am STILL rooted, still a Titanium Backup user, and now on EC05... thanks to Paul627g and whoever else helped develop this awesome and super easy (less than 5 minutes) method of updating sans OTA...

Thank you so much for posting this - I am having the EXACT same problem you are! I will do this!

Successful update after employing the aforementioned Market trick. Thanks everyone! Had the SD card issues after EB13ing via update.zip but had resolved by formatting the card. No lingering issues after this OTA, so I'm quite pleased.

Everyone should be receiving the OTA update by now. I tested it out personally and received it 2 times within 5 minutes of using Odin to return to Froyo EB13.

The download is 13.3 mb and seems to be a very small update from Froyo EB13 to Froyo EC05.

So I bricked my epic last week, had truly epic reboot, tried to change to ACE rom, bricked phone. CWM, Odin, exorcist, nothing worked. Went to sprint store, and they fixed, got back to EB13 from them, stock. The tonight EC05 hits. Now I'm gonna try out this sprint Id thing

Got mine about 7PM tonight...things seem to be running alright, not sure about Sprint ID though!?!?

My update came at 5:00 PM, the 28th. Weird though, I was restoring some of my apps using MyBackup Pro, and then came the EC05 update soon after.

Good luck to everyone getting it!
Hope everyone gets the update today or at least within the next 2 weeks.

Got mine around midnight. Funny I switched over to WiFi to do something and within 4 minutes said I had an update. Weird

So far no problems but have not checked everything yet. See the Sprint ID in apps but going to leave that one alone.

EB13 via update.zip, EC05 OTA, and I've noticed no change.

-The android keyboard is still inaccurate
-The android keyboard auto correct is terrible
-There is still a large delay on the screen rotation.

We'll see if the bluetooth has actually been fixed. And I never had the camera action shot problem, so who knows. I got all excited for nothing. Damn it.

EB13 via update.zip for me .

Got the update EC05 earlier, but when rebooted clockwork came up and said it wasn't signed or unsuccessful . Anyway tried rebooting and deleting the update.zip left on the sdcard - dl some market stuff and stayed off wifi - but no repeat push of the EC05.

Any suggestions or just go through the manual update thread with root ?
