Anyone switching back to iPhone?

I would disagree. Even though I have been a really big Android fan, Android still has some issues with performance and many of the apps don't work as well on Android devices like they do on iOS. I have a few issues with app performance on Android. Firstly, two of the last three Android devices I have had have been Nexus devices. Whenever the operating system was updated by Google, a quarter of the apps that I had downloaded to my device no longer worked. I would have to wait days to months for the apps to be updated. This would happen almost every time there was an update. Secondly, the apps don't always fit the design language of Android, therefore, some of the apps feel like they don't fit with the operating system. The availability is there, the quality is getting better, but there are still some issues. The last thing that I'm going to say about Android and I preface this by saying that I want to believe different because I like Android a lot, but...I find myself confused as to the direction and future of Android. You hear reports that the Nexus line is going to be discontinued, or Samsung is going with Tizen and distancing themselves from Android, HTC is going out of business, and who knows what Sony is going to be for the platform. You hear these things and have to wonder what is going on with Android. Not saying Apple is better, because Android is definitely more innovative and exciting in so many facets of the mobile space, but with Apple, I know what to expect. I'm pretty sure that iOS will be sustained. That makes me feel more comfortable. Call me a sheep; I'm fine with that. But I can count on Apple to give me what I need.

Android isn't going away.. It's the only other platform with a good amount of apps, Tizen was abandoned by Samsung hence their deal with Google.... So even though it might not be as smooth it definitely doesn't mean it's doomed.

Apple controls the phone and software so they do have that advantage to make sure it works perfect.. Android has to many factors so therefore isn't as polished but still isn't doomed.

I didn't mean to imply that Android is doomed, I just don't know what it's future holds.

It will likely only get better and more functional, like iOS. I'm trying not to resist what Samsung is doing with their Magazine UI in TouchWiz but it's not looking attractive to me yet. However, they are making a very functional device at the expense of simplicity. So, if you're looking to replace your laptop one of the new Samsung devices may be right up your alley. I like how iOS on the other hand just seems to get out of the way and allow the apps do their thing. Its not a "better" approach, its just different.

I'm glad that they did decide to abandon Tizen because I didn't think that it would work out. But the fact that they were looking to distance themselves from Android gives me reason to pause when it comes to Android. I believe that they should keep the Nexus line and probably make more smartphones running Android more stock than not. I thought that they were heading in a good direction with Motorola, but then they got rid of it. And that's kinda what I mean. I started to get excited about what they were doing with Motorola and now nothing. All of those hoping for a Moto X 2 after enjoying the Moto X probably feel cheated right now.

Even if Samsung were to go it alone with Tizen. They aren't the only Android OEM. All the others like HTC, LG, Sony, Asus etc are still here making phones.

I find Android's future prospects more exciting than Apple's.

We could take a doom and gloom approach to Apple's future, as they are loosing market share all the time.

I think Apple will continue to lose market share as some of their customers realize they prefer Android or Windows Phone but I believe that enough will remain blindly loyal or maintain a preference for iOS that Apple will do quite well for a long long longlong time.

Yes I think Apple will continue to do well for a while longer. They have a very loyal fanbase.

I switched from the 5S to the Note 3. My only regret is why didn't I switch sooner. I have held a 5S since I switched and now it feels so small in the hand, I can't imagine typing on it again.

I have used a 5S as well as the Note 3 and the scrolling does have a few skips occasionally. The 5S doesn't have that issue. Apple does a very good job optimizing it's software for it's hardware. Android is a little harder since there is so much different hardware out there.

Agree. I think the nexus is probably the smoothest android device because Google can control most aspects.

I think the Google apps run better on Android devices. However I do agree that some apps run better on iOS. Anyhow I think the difference in performance between iOS and Android stopped being an issue in 2012.

I don't know, google+ is better on iOS. I haven't checked out maps yet, but I will. Nexus is the only *real* android phone, all others are fronts. Motorola was close once!

I went with android because it wasn't the status quo, now android is dominating and I have gone with Apple, away from the status quo once again.

Lately my little phone resides in my pocket more and more as I work, spend time with family, enjoy life, and go to school more and more lol!

Re: Anyone switching back to Iphone?

Well, I'm an Apple user and on my iPhones and iPads it asked me if I wanted to join iCloud. There's also a toggles in the control panels to turn all of iClouds features off...in fact you don't even have to make an iCloud account. So yes, it's optional.

As far as phones are concerned I switched to iOS and am satisfied. For now I'm staying with Android on my Nexus 7.

Not me. I've owned all the iPhones and while their software and hardware are great. I just traded my 5s for the note 3. And I can't go back to such a small phone. Plus I like to tinker.

4" is way to small this days. 5"+ is minimum..:) Did use iPhone 5s few months but way to small in every aspect. Iphone is still very fast and works nice, but to small.
