ApeX 1.3.1 on Droid X!

I've tweaked my phone and as of last night, after rebooting it while on the charger, I disconnected it and left it sit all night. A good 8 or 9 hours later, with full 3G running, push notifications, a bunch of emails and texts, but on silent of course, I awake to find my phone still at 90% battery. That's the best it's ever done. However, I didn't run 1.2 GHz like I was, I brought it back down to 1 GHz low voltage with 800 MHz max while the screen is off. REALLY helps with battery life and it still has plenty of power do do what it needs to while in an idle state. I had it down to 300 MHz while screen was off but it lagged when I went to wake it.

i'm interested in learning how to scale down my power consumption. where can i find out more about how to use the overclock script (i don't know what default values are, whether settings will "stick" after reboot, and what i should and shouldn't change)? i know the linux command line, but not much about android.

Juice Defender is definitely nice. I started using Tasker for its ability to start of stop wifi depending on your location, which might save a miniscule amount of batt compared to JD, but The location feature on JD never seems to work for me.

Setting up Tasker is about as difficult as JD, but the advanced profiles are 10x more difficult. The only way I was able to get the Auto Wifi to work was to DL the profiles and tasks and apply it in Tasker. Without those downloadable tasks I would never have been able to set it up.

JD+Tasker is bomb! I still have JD auto on/off Wifi/3g when the screen is off, checking every Hour for 3 min. Plus a profile in OC for screen off that switches governer from performance to on demand and lowers max freq to 700. And yeah backlight always at 10%

If you use the script there are no profiles to switch settings dependant on your usage other than the governer. I use Jrummys OC app that has a Delay on boot setting that waits for the script to run before applying OC. Then when the screen is off the profile switches to a lower max freq, and lower voltage, in the hopes of saving batt. Only way I can verify is by the widget, that shows max freq of 700 when I awaken device, then switches to 1.1.

I had a larger batt drain when using just the script.

This is great, I just wanted to add that the same could be done with SetCpu App. If you don't have Jrummys droid overclock app installed.
What appears that can be done w/ the overclock script is maximum and minimums settings of your cpu. (1000-800 for example)What'S not available is the personalized profiles like SetCpu and/or the Jrummy app.(when screen off, battery low, etc.)

But its all good.

NewAge, is it the JD app that switches the governors , and how does the Performance and Userspace Govern settings work? I just understand the On Demand one.

I too would like to know exactly what the Governer settings exactly do. Either Setcpu, or Jrummy, or many others have the profiles. JD I think does too. There is a CPU tab in JD but I havnt touched it.

I get best speed and quadrant scores when performance gov is set. This can be changed in any OC app. When performance is set the CPU seems to stay at the max setting longer than the ondemand governer. But there is less lag. So you trade battery for a semi-lag-free phone. Which is fine for me. What's the point of OC'ing if you don't notice anything? Infact with the ondemand there seemed to be a slight lag when cpu jumps fromm 400mhz to 1100. The ondemand is fairly self explanitory.

Not sure about userspace setting.

Does anyone know the stock voltages for apex 1.3.1 or just 2.2.1.340

Ive heard the 1000mhz was lowered to 56 but when I load the stock values in droid overclock its 62..? Also my phone does not work at 56 at 1000mhz so Im not sure about people saying the voltages were lowered.

At ULV my 1100 mhz slot reads 60v, the 900 is at 56v, 700 is 51v. Not sure on stock. It shouldn't be hard to check, just set factory and reboot with no profiles active and either use a cpu widget or in terminal, su, cpuinfo. I think 62 is right though.

Edit: after re-reading post I see you are differentiating Apex and .340 as being able to have different voltage settings. I don't think this is possible. He (Fab) can only put the script in. Since the bootloader is locked we are all stuck with the same kernal and that where crazy stuff happens, like setting freq and volt.

Need some help.

Droid X (2.3.340 OTA) recently loaded up APEX 1.3.1 w/REVO theme and I have the autosync symbol stuck on the top right of my notification bar. Not sure how to get rid of it. A reboot didn't work.

did you restore your settings with a backup program like titanium backup?
if so you'll probably need to reload and NOT restore things like your accounts.. you'll have to enter those by hand.

Ah, I see. That's exactly what I did. Didn't think that would be the problem. Reloading it now. Thanks.

Dude your wallpaper is SICK!! Which clock are U using in BW Widget?

Ever since I installed beautiful widgets the other day my battery has been dying like crazy. Anyone think this could be it or is it possibly still apex 1.3.1? I leave my phone on charge over night. Wake up in the morning about 630-7 am and then unplug it and the last 2 days about 4-5 pm the phone is at about 15-20% and all I did was text on it and make some calls.

do you have the geo location stuff turned on?
i would manually add your location and leave the geo stuff turned off and see how it goes.
also try clearing your cache. apex rom works great for many people, so it's not the rom or everyone would have issues. it's something to do with your installation or an app messing up.

I was havn the same issues but noticed that my GPS was always on and the Weather Bug app I had was constantly updating through my 3g network. So the combo of 2 was draining. Like the above you might want to uncheck Force GPS (if you havnt done so) and turn off animations, otherwise a nice widget to have if not the Best out there.IMO.

Custom presets. You can run any settings your phone will take

Before this rom, the live wallpaper, Microbes ran fine. After I installed this, it runs much worse.. why would this be?

Thats funny...I always thought that the Microbes wallpaper was part of the Apex 1.3.1 update...right?

It was installed already? I wonder if my performance drop is because of me installing it twice..

uninstalled it and it disappeared of the LWP list.. =/

in any event, it's on a DroidX.. shouldn't it run better? is it hardware accelerated? other LWP's that have much more things going on run better.
