Exactly, it is sufficient but not great. I expect from a premium device much more.True, but I also don't use it as a boombox. A single speaker is perfectly sufficient for Youtube videos, gaming, calls/notifications/alarms, which is what most people would need the speakers for.

That's what most people would say about the HTC 10 that you are happy with. Speaker volume and quality is not even close to being near the top of important features in a smart phone. My Samsung single speaker can notify me of calls and texts just as well as the HTC 10 or Nexus 6P can.I expect from a premium device much more.
The only reason that the HTC hasn't been successful is marketing. Of course it is not perfect, but it is excellent in all areas. People wouldn't know though, as they only choose between Apple and Samsung. That's what most people would say about the HTC 10 that you are happy with. It isn't marketing. The problem is that it is a middle of the road device. The only reason that the HTC hasn't been successful is marketing. Of course it is not perfect, but it is excellent in all areas. People wouldn't know though, as they only choose between Apple and Samsung.
This is your opinion. 99℅ of reviews disagree with you.It isn't marketing. The problem is that it is a middle of the road device.
There is not a phone in existence that has anything close to "good" speakers. When phones start to outperform $30 BT speakers then sure, it's reasonable to want that on every other device. Until that point sufficient will have to suffice.
The closest any phone or tablet comes to "good" speakers is the big iPad Pro. You can actually hear the bass, mids aren't muddy, and highs aren't harsh or tinny.
You may be correct (have you personally tested every phone in existence?) however the Nexus 6P does have pretty darned good dual, stereo, front-facing speakers. I don't use them often as when listening to music it is usually through Bluetooth earbuds, but when I do use the 6P's speakers they are a heck of a lot better than any previous single-speaker or bottom-facing speaker phone I have ever owned.
Yep and IMO a definite downside to waterproofing.Isn't some of the muffled sound of the note 7 from the water proofing design?
Hardly, You even used one for any length of time? No lag since day one for one thing. Sam's hung can't say that with any regularity. It is their poor marketing strategies or maybe not enough in the budget to get a good marketing company to work for them. The reason their fan base is small and possibly getting smaller. Sam's hung giant crushes everything in it's path. Perhaps the Note 7 fiasco will help even things out just a tad.It isn't marketing. The problem is that it is a middle of the road device.
I've seen the reviews - they agree with me.This is your opinion. 99℅ of reviews disagree with you.
You say it isn't a middle of the road device and the only reason you can give to show that it isn't is "no lag". After the V20 is releases, the HTC 10 will literally have no class leading features. Even with the supposed lag of the Note 7, the Note 7 is still way faster than the HTC 10 in speed tests.Hardly, You even used one for any length of time? No lag since day one for one thing. I'm fine with agreeing that we are not in agreement regarding the HTC 10.I've seen the reviews - they agree with me.
