Are you gonna buy it?

I know the presentation is still going on, but what does everyone think?

i love it so much. especially the 'Really Blue'. That makes me laugh so much. I've always wanted a Nexus device. So if I'm able get my hands on a Pixel it will be very cool. Crossing fingers i win one from AndroidCentral otherwise, ill send a letter to Santa lol ^_^

7.0 is better than 6.0.1 and 7.1 is better than 7.0. If and when the 10 gets 7.1, if the Pixel hasn't moved on from there yet, they can be compared. As it is, HTC is way behind on just the base version so not a whole lot of benefit to doing a feature by feature... But we can.

Yes, 89 is a larger number than 88. That's the objective part. Which one various reviewers prefer would be subjective and is as of yet unknown.

Internal storage objectively performs better than SD cards on speed, stability and security. 128 is objectively greater than 32. If you're saying you prefer 32 and using a 96 GB or higher SD card to balance it out, that'd be subjective based on preference and unless you're using MORE than 96 GB card, it would still be worse.

The HTC 10 is $699 MSRP on HTC's site, but even your $150 discount doesn't make the most expensive Pixel XL $599 more expensive. But again that's misleading, because you cannot get an HTC 10 with the features upgraded to the Pixel XL level.

All of these things are quantifiable or binary yes/no items that can be directly compared without any need for opinions. All of them fall in the favor of the Pixel.

One can argue that they don't personally value those differences, but not that the differences don't exist and not that HTC is somehow ahead despite being behind on every listed metric above.
You should compare the Pixel to the HTC 10 and not the Pixel XL.

I still do not see what is better on the Pixel. Add to that the price difference and you have a clear winner.

Although I really like the Pixel, I'm hoping to wait it out for the next generation and hope that Google's chip customizations yield something special. Then again, I can be swayed if Assistant is Now on steroids.

The fingerprint scanner should be at the front.

The fingerprint scanner at the back is without a doubt the single best design on my 6P.

I'd like an XL but it's just too expensive at this time for me. I have a sim free contract with 20gb data for £21pm which doesn't expire until March. I'll look again after Xmas

I have a replacement Note7. If I'm forced to return this one (if there happens to be another recall- doubt it, but who knows in this crazy world anymore), I'll eventually get the 128gb Pixel XL. I for sure won't order it until the Pixel is out a month or so first- haha. I'm done pre-ordering and being an early adopter guinea pig (smartwatches, phones, etc). I'll use my 5X until the price drops on the new Google phones- or there's been proof of stability.

I wait at least 6 months. Let others deal with the inevitable teething problems, and also by waiting you get to try them out yourself, review batteries of tests by different people, possibly see what friends and colleagues think, etc. I don't understand the appeal of being a first adopter and dealing with all the issues.

I'm in a holding pattern myself. I definitely want it, but I'm considering leaving my current carrier. (Sprint)

My S7 Edge will be paid off in December, so I'll reevaluate then.

I've always tried to have the latest and greatest when it comes to tech. This includes DVD players when they first came out years ago, the latest drones (I hate calling them that, but that includes racing quads and the ever popular DJI Phantom series), phones, smartwatches.. you name it. As Michael Fisher says, these are the things we wanted when we were 8 years old.

Hi, my name is Todd... and I have a problem. lol

I'm at a place in my life where I can actually acquire these items, and I'm excited when something new comes out.

I pre-ordered a Silver 128gb Pixel XL. It cost me $929 good lord I don't remember every paying this much for a phone. I have a Nexus 6p today and I like the camera, but I miss the camera I had on the Galaxy S6 in terms of speed and it had a bit better quality not much, but the speed was so much better and pleasant. Now that I'm a father of a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old baby I take tons of pictures and they are always moving around and won't pose still for a pic so the speed is going to be key for me so I hoped on. I wish they had a 64GB model I would of purchased that. I feel like the 32GB isn't much these days so I felt compelled to purchase the 128GB, however 64 on my nexus works great I'm usually around 40GB of storage.

Anyhow I order it the same day the phone was announced and for the last 2 days the order status has been "PREORDER", but as of today it has switched over to "PENDING".

Why did it jump from 869 to 929? Other than taxes

Very interesting. According to the Pixel webpage, there is no earbud included. This is supposed to be a premium product with normal consumers as its targets. Not including earbuds is so consumer unfriendly. Google didn't include earbuds in the Nexus 6P too, but since this is a development device, this was understandable. Fail...
Asking for such a premium price and not including earbuds is not ok.

I haven't gotten earbuds with any Google products that I can recall except the Galaxy Nexus, but also curious, do the Note 7, iPhone 7 come with them?

I don't recall if the LG Ally had them, Thunderbolt did not, GNex did, none of moto flagships from 2013 to 2016 did, nexus 6, 6P, 5X did not, don't remember lg g4.

What premium phones come with premium earbuds?

I don't know about the Note 7, but the iPhone always had them included. HTC too. As far as I know, only Google never included them..

The Pixel does not include any earbuds at all.
Premium earbuds are included in the European HTC 10. The US version has standard earbuds.

I expect that all premium phones include earbuds.

I guess my point is if they don't come with premium earbuds then why even come with earbuds at all? Most basic earbuds aren't that great and most people would replace them anyway. Making them a waste. I understand though in Europe there are laws making it a requirement to supply earbuds.
