I went with the XL 32 Black. And the Fi sim. Nice to have the bigger storage option if ya need it.

I know the presentation is still going on, but what does everyone think?
You should compare the Pixel to the HTC 10 and not the Pixel XL.7.0 is better than 6.0.1 and 7.1 is better than 7.0. If and when the 10 gets 7.1, if the Pixel hasn't moved on from there yet, they can be compared. As it is, HTC is way behind on just the base version so not a whole lot of benefit to doing a feature by feature... But we can.
Yes, 89 is a larger number than 88. That's the objective part. Which one various reviewers prefer would be subjective and is as of yet unknown.
Internal storage objectively performs better than SD cards on speed, stability and security. 128 is objectively greater than 32. If you're saying you prefer 32 and using a 96 GB or higher SD card to balance it out, that'd be subjective based on preference and unless you're using MORE than 96 GB card, it would still be worse.
The HTC 10 is $699 MSRP on HTC's site, but even your $150 discount doesn't make the most expensive Pixel XL $599 more expensive. But again that's misleading, because you cannot get an HTC 10 with the features upgraded to the Pixel XL level.
All of these things are quantifiable or binary yes/no items that can be directly compared without any need for opinions. All of them fall in the favor of the Pixel.
One can argue that they don't personally value those differences, but not that the differences don't exist and not that HTC is somehow ahead despite being behind on every listed metric above.
That doesn't make it better or worse. It just shows how bad HTCs marketing is.According to Phone Arena the HTC 10 is not doing so well.

The fingerprint scanner should be at the front.
I wait at least 6 months. Let others deal with the inevitable teething problems, and also by waiting you get to try them out yourself, review batteries of tests by different people, possibly see what friends and colleagues think, etc. I don't understand the appeal of being a first adopter and dealing with all the issues.I for sure won't order it until the Pixel is out a month or so first- haha. I'm done pre-ordering and being an early adopter guinea pig (smartwatches, phones, etc).

Why did it jump from 869 to 929? Other than taxesI pre-ordered a Silver 128gb Pixel XL. It cost me $929 good lord I don't remember every paying this much for a phone. I have a Nexus 6p today and I like the camera, but I miss the camera I had on the Galaxy S6 in terms of speed and it had a bit better quality not much, but the speed was so much better and pleasant. Now that I'm a father of a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old baby I take tons of pictures and they are always moving around and won't pose still for a pic so the speed is going to be key for me so I hoped on. I wish they had a 64GB model I would of purchased that. I feel like the 32GB isn't much these days so I felt compelled to purchase the 128GB, however 64 on my nexus works great I'm usually around 40GB of storage.
Anyhow I order it the same day the phone was announced and for the last 2 days the order status has been "PREORDER", but as of today it has switched over to "PENDING".
I haven't gotten earbuds with any Google products that I can recall except the Galaxy Nexus, but also curious, do the Note 7, iPhone 7 come with them?Very interesting. According to the Pixel webpage, there is no earbud included. This is supposed to be a premium product with normal consumers as its targets. Not including earbuds is so consumer unfriendly. Google didn't include earbuds in the Nexus 6P too, but since this is a development device, this was understandable. Fail...
Asking for such a premium price and not including earbuds is not ok.

I don't recall if the LG Ally had them, Thunderbolt did not, GNex did, none of moto flagships from 2013 to 2016 did, nexus 6, 6P, 5X did not, don't remember lg g4.
What premium phones come with premium earbuds?
I guess my point is if they don't come with premium earbuds then why even come with earbuds at all? Most basic earbuds aren't that great and most people would replace them anyway. Making them a waste. I understand though in Europe there are laws making it a requirement to supply earbuds. The Pixel does not include any earbuds at all.
Premium earbuds are included in the European HTC 10. The US version has standard earbuds.
I expect that all premium phones include earbuds.
