No I couldn't find it in the drop down. It still there in sounds and notifications, at the bottom after you touch interruptions. That's all I could find

Where did you find the update for Lollipop online at HTC? Is it for AT&T?

On your phone go to Settings>AT&T Software Update and follow the prompts.
While doing my update went into standby mode. When I woke it up I couldn't see the progress bar or the download icon, so I couldn't tell if the download had stopped. After I shut off Bluetooth and Mobile Data, I could see it was still downloading. It took about 45 minutes. So be patient, and wait for the download to complete, and then do the install.

I'm very happy with the new features of Lollipop, especially the lock screen notifications, and the Smart Unlock features.

Mine says no update available. I contacted htc and found it online. RUU file.
Thanks.

You can use a different app and it should let you have notifications. I use hello SMS, but others here have highly recommended Textra. For me, I can see the message or at least the beginning of it as well as the sender.

Thanks! Textra is pretty cool so far.

I don't know. I just got my new phone ZTE Blade Plus yesterday. It's also android lollipop. can it download?

Downloading now in Texas. After the download I will update the HTC apps and do a wipe of the cache and see what happens. At 21% in less than 5 mins.

All 3 M8s in my home have been updated. Was a smooth process and thus far no trouble except for the occasional gps on but that does not reflect as too much draining on the battery usage chart. The other setup that is kind of lax is the do not disturb which is now call interruptions which have only 1 schedule .

Updated two days ago. Went very well. Runs very smooth and no issues. Even battery life has been about the same. It was a long wait but I guess AT&T got it right..

Updated mine. Reset the phone, updated, and immediately reset the phone again. If you go this route, android will upgrade twice once booted. Cleared cache, downloaded everything, cleared cache again. Battery life has been better but keyboard has been somewhat finicky. Animations aren't quite as fluid sometimes as a Nexus. I'm happy with the update in the end.

I had just bought my M8 a week before the update so maybe the gallery has always functioned this way. I am being asked to sign into an email address when I try to send a photo directly from the gallery itself but dos not accept the gmail address I used to set the phone up. Going to the app I can attach pics no problem and am signed in just fine there. Is there something I am missing or has this started after the update? Anyone else have the problem? Thanks for any help in advance.

Also I have a handful of pre installed and or htc apps that say that the phone is not compatible with them. Can I do anything with these and are there any I should not disable in general besides the more obvious ones? Mine is from At&t if that helps

You must have opted into the HTC cloud storage option. I said no to that (my wife is always accidentally taking pictures or playing around). You may want to look at backing out of that option if you don't want it.
You should not be getting any compatibility messages for the AT&T software. Perform a restart and if it persists, take it into a store or call AT&T support.

I don't recall opting into the htc cloud storage and tend to avoid using those kind of preinstalled things but I will definitely look and see if I somehow did manage to do without knowing it. The compatibility problems are not with the at&t apps they put on, two are HTC's (HTC Connect, HTC tasks), and one is a sort of Microsoft office style app called Polaris Office 5. Those all say they are not compatible with the phone and don't even offer the option in the my app's part of the play store to update them and no way to disable in the app manager part of the phone. A support guy from at&t suggested a factory reset as a possible solution but they were not usable prior to the update to lolipop anyway so, it's worth a try but not thinking it will help.

I am looking through the phone now and do not see an HTC cloud app or anything so where would I find that feature to look if I did accidentally opt in? Thanks for all the other info by the way it is much appreciated.

Josh
