Is it possible to pre-order in store to get the gift card and then walk out with the device during the same visit?

Pre-order is not required for the gift card according to the terms. The promotion runs until July 4.
I don't understand your post. If it ships to your house, you pop in a sim and turn it on and it's activated. Why are you saying they make you activate it in store when it is being shipped to your house?
Would there be any chance a preordered Sprint leather back could be switched for a plastic back at pick up.
Also, what can I do to reduce my in store time? Would it help if I don't bring an old phone to transfer anything from? Or do I just be honest and up front and ask them to just activate the phone and let me go?I wanted home delivery to avoid dealing with their salespeople and walk out working policy but wouldn't be home to sign for it. I will have my 2 year old with me so I could also just tell them to save their breath because they don't have my full attention.
And finally does it really help to insert the sd card before the phone is turned on or should I just leave the store put the card in and do a hard reset.

Swapping phones would probably just be determined by whether the store ordered extra stock or just ordered the pre-orders.
They shouldn't bother you to much. They should be able to just activate and send you on your way.

Yeah, definitely excited! I am home with it and everything worked out. They matched Verizon's price and issued the gift card on the spot. Now, it's time to set this sucker up.
Did they let you pay and go? I don't want them messing with mine.
My local best buy is absolutely no help in letting me know if they are good to go tomorrow. Called a little while ago, all I got was we are still receiving stock. I guess that's a good sign but I sure would like to see that pickup email. They will see me standing at the door at 10am when they open whether I have an email or not.

I just went through the headache of cancelling my pre-order. Mine wasn't there and was told my Best Buy had only the grey plastic backs. There was a chance of it showing up tomorrow but was told by them not to expect it.
They lost my business at this store and possibly for all of them. Corporate office is supposedly going to call me tomorrow and try to keep me happy, but I am not holding my breath.
This will be the first and only time I will ever pre-order from them again... Just not worth the effort

My order is ready for tomorrow but I called this afternoon and they told me was ready today so I go to the store.. Wait for one hour and they set up everything one hour later have to cancel the transaction because the phone wasn't in inventory yet until tomorrow.. So tomorrow have to go back to the store
That sounds like best buy giving bad information.
I'm excited about the phone but I'm really dreading my trip to best buy tomorrow. I'm hopeful they actually have my phones do that I can then deal with what will most likely be a long activation process.

I got email from BB last night saying my pre-order would be ready today. I was able to pick it up after work today. The people at BB were extremely nice. I was very surprised how helpful they were. I picked up my VZW LG G4 and they had no issues price matching. Since I did online pre-order, they said my GC would be electronic via email, but since I did the price match, they did a refund and exchange and gave me giftcard on the spot.
I was hoping I would receive an email today but no luck as of 10pm.
I've previously purchased 6 phones from best buy so I'm hoping it works out in the morning.

Wow. I ordered 1 phone on May 29 and the other May 31, both in store. Hopefully something in the morning before store open. I'll be there at 10am no matter what.
Yeah, they did. They told me they had to activate it for me to get the $100. I pushed a little it and they changed their mind. It was a pretty simple process.
