Best Buy Preorders?

Anybody have any idea when BB will be getting their 2nd shipment? They said since I pre-ordered late, I will be getting mine in the 2nd shipment.

The answers I've been given from multiple bb's is sometime between Monday (good one) and June.

I have to thank android central and the forum participants for all the great info that people pass on in the forums. Because of the forums, i saw that best buy was offering $50 for pre-orders and offering essentially $100 for a trade-in of the original evo. Combined with the phone freedom promotion in February, I was able to get the evo on Friday essentially for free, just paying sales tax.

Android central and the forums rock.

I've always used bb, however this was my first preorder for a phone and I'm glad I went with them and will continue to use them on the future.

Sent from my evolte that was smuggled through customs in a monkeys back fat.

Without question I will go to Best Buy. My last 4 phones (3 being EVOs) were from Best Buy and the experience was flawless each time. I love the way they handle pre-orders and have never had an issue. With the original EVO launch it took a couple of hours in the store when I picked up the phone but that was because the Sprint system was so slow due to the volume of activations.

This last pre-order for the LTE was the best ever for me. I pre-ordered and had an email within about 30 minutes confirming my pre-order. That email was followed by a second email that the phone was delayed (the Customs debacle) and that email was followed by a third telling me my phone was ready to be picked up. This time around I didn't have to purchase the $50 gift card and when I picked up the LTE Best Buy automatically applied the $50 discount for pre-ordering and the $50 Phone Freedom discount without me even having to ask.

I really feel bad for those that had a poor experience with Best Buy but for me, with regards to their Mobile department, they have been consistently great and I could not be more satisfied.

I went to my local BB Mobile Store the week it was suppose to be released. Guy had no clue what was going on. I emailed BB, no success. I'm now going thru Sprint. BB says they have no idea when they will have the phone. $50 savings isn't worth the hassle, read too many horror stories of waiting in store for activation, getting waited on. Sprint Store will have phone activacted upon my arrival. Just too much BS from BB.

Just wondering if the people that ordered from bestbuy.com were getting their phones just as quick as pre-ordering in-store?

After pre-ordering from Amazon the very day they announced they would be doing pre-orders I haven't received anything but frustration. So, Friday I decided to pre-order from bestbuy.com and see who gets it to me first. Thing is they already charged me $218, Amazon has not. Won't get the $50 gift card until activation.

Maybe I should go into best buy and pre-order also? That's probly overkill tho. Beginning to just let go of how cool it would be to show everyone my brand new phone they can't get yet. When it comes it comes. I'll probably feel different Tuesday when Wirefly ships theirs out.

For many of us, the dust has NOT settled because we still don't have even day one preorders. My experience with Best Buy was great last year. But after this fiasco, never again.

Hence why i said "dust has settled a little bit" keeping in mind that many people are still waiting for their phone.
My question is this. Do you think if you used one of the other stores your success rate would have been better? I mean i know there is a demand that htc has not met but do you think if you chose R.S. (for example) you would have your phone now?

Its just my personal opinion that i like how BB has always came through for me.

Yes. I was there 4 hours after opening on the first day to preorder my Evo LTE. Had I just gone online that morning and ordered it from Sprint, I would likely have had the phone for days now (and a free case) rather than wondering if I will have it in a few more days or if it will be weeks or maybe longer.

It looks like I can still preorder from BB.
Do you guys think it is worth the gift card, or do you think I can get the same deal once the phones are officially launched and available?

I pre-ordered the OG EVO and the EVO LTE through BB and had no problems although they had a relatively new guy at my local BB who wasn't quite sure how to apply all the discounts and such.

Still, I will go back to them next time.

Well, it wasn't just the $50 savings for me. It was the Freedom Phone savings ($50) plus the upgrade savings ($50), plus the contact savings ($50), plus turning in my old EVO ($45). I left my local BB with a new EVO LTE for $13.94.

As for the activation, I asked the guy if I could just activate it at home. He handed me the unopened box, my receipt and some paperwork and I left. I went home, activated the phone and was able to make calls and download apps in under 10 minutes.

As I said, the only draw back for me was that I had to wait a little longer than planned because the guy was relatively new and was having some problems applying the discounts. But, we muddled through and the $194 saving was worth 30 minutes of my time.

My biggest problem is one of the two I bought is broken. Now I have to wait until preorders are filled just to replace a broken phone.

I ordered from amazon on 5/11 and was confident that I would get my phone in a timely manner. On friday 5/25, after not hearing anything on the status from amazon, I decided to broaden my chances of getting the phone. I went in to best buy after work, submitted my preorder, and on Sunday around 5pm I got an email saying that my phone was ready for pick up.

I was originally upset at amazon for not getting my phone to me sooner, but now that I have had time to look around, it doesn't seem like anyone place is screwing their customers more than the other. It seems now that this has been a horrible launch brought on by unexpected events, and not one company had a plan to handle it. Hopefully all involved will learn from this and be more prepared in the future.

I hope everyone gets their phone soon... I promise you it will be worth the wait.

Well, at 8am I had an Email that my preorder was ready. I had to fight in the store for 2 hours before I walked out with the damn phone (mostly because the sales people were totally incompetent). Best I can tell, someone didn't pick up theirs in 72 hours and it automatically moved it to me. I am glad that is over.

I just returned from my closest BB and went ahead and preordered a phone.
The stafff was confused at best as to what the offers were.
I was told the $50 card for preorder would not be given to me until 48 hours after I picked up my phone, so I would not be able to use it towards the price of the phone.
They also said I could only get a total of $50 for my OG Evo. It was not a trade in AND a $50 gift card, only a $50 gift card for giving them my old phone. I thought I would get $50 for trade in , and then a $50 gift card for trade in on top of that. I will not give up my old phone for $50!
Can anyone enlighten me on the specifics of the deals?
Thanx,
Ron
