BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I work at Best Buy and I pre-ordered my Note 8 in store as well. I have been checking my work email on a regular basis hoping its an email advising us that we can release preorders early. That's what happen with the S8 (I believe) and the S7 for sure.

Nonetheless, everybody is upset at Best Buy for not releasing the in-store preorders early. We have to wait for the Samsung to give us the go ahead. Once we receive that, emails is sent out to all stores informing them that they can release the preorders. With that said, have any corporate carrier stores released any of their in-store preorders early?

In addition, with everything going on in the world ..storms etc, maybe Samsung decided to release the Note 8 preorders early so that customers could have them in hand by Sept 15.

I can also tell you that my store just started receiving Note 8's in this week.

If I get an email stating that we can pick-up our preorders early (hopefully today), I'll post back and give you guys a heads up!

Yes I read that Verizon is selling out the door at corporate stores.

That's strange, because I had customer come in to my store last night that had just left the Verizon Corporate store and he said he said they weren't releasing pre-orders yet.

Maybe it's store to store...idk for sure.

But I do hope that Samsung gives us the okay to least release theses preorders early.

We have a Sprint Corporate Store right across from us as well. I'm going to stop by there this evening and see if they are leasing theirs early as well.

I wish they would do the same. I'm supposed to be off today, but I'm going in this evening because someone got sick.

By the way, the Orchard Gray colored one is really neat looking too. Almost a Titanium Silver color. I preordered the midnight black..but may get the Orchard Gray (maybe) lol

for the first time ever I was torn between black and orchid. I love black, but the orchid called to me too. too bad I couldn't see one in person before I ordered. only saw the black. it's gorgeous, but now I second guess my decision sometimes.

The real question is who needs to call Samsung to get the ball rolling...is it store to store dependant, or on the coporate side....is there somewhere specific we can send our focused outrage so the big wigs at Best Buy get the point that they are not just losing preorders, but customers in general...I mean I'm done with BB after this no matter the deal. It' just incredibly unfair
 
I just really don't like the fact that those of us who ordered in-store get effed over. Those who ordered online have started getting theirs already, but those who ordered in-store won't get them because 'Samsung won't let BB release the phones?' I call BS on that. There's no way Samsung would specifically ask BB to retain inventory when literally everyone else is already handing it out like candy. Honestly, BB is working against itself here, by further proving that the old brick-and-mortar stores hold few benefits over shopping online, and actually are worse in some ways. Instead of justifying their own existence, they are doing the complete opposite.

Yeah I have the midnight black coming...at some point. It's been killing me to see all these people with their phones including a few of my friends and I am just sitting here waiting. I know it's at the store, just need Best Buy and Samsung to get on the same page and hand it over!

I wouldn't be so bent out of shape if I could get a guarantee from Best Buy or Samsung that the pre-order gift of my choosing we'll be available and ship quickly for both of the phones I ordered.

My store is one that probably doesn't have them yet. We tend to get everything last here in my area of WA

For example, I work at Best Buy Mobile. I do know that the Big Best Buy stores tend to get items in before we do. It also depends on the area.

Even though we have my Best Buy Mobile Store and a actual Best Buy Store in my city, neither one of the stores STILL get much merchandise in. However, it's another Big Best Buy Store about 35 minutes away, just in Illinois and they get everything first.

So area..also has a lot to do it with it as when stores receive the item in stock.

This guy deserves a raise and promotion. He is the only one actual giving answers that mean anything and helping out. They need to put you on the Social Media team and have you run that department clearly! ha

Well the preordered gift is satisfied through Samsung. You just have to upload your HEX/IMEI/DEC number of the device along with the receipt etc and you should be good to go.

In my experience with Samsung freebies, it takes at least a month or two before you actually receive it.
