BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

WOO! my phone is set to arrive this Friday, I can't wait (maybe even this afternoon, phone's only few hrs away from my location at the moment)! Got the Unlocked midnight black, pre-ordered on August 24th.
 
Can anyone tell me that if I cancel preorder for in store pickup today and try to order online through best buy online whether that will get my phone in hand quicker than next Friday. I'm worried about availability of the freebies and I also don't want to lose the $150... I'm afraid I'm getting to the point in time where I may just have to wait another week.
 
I know there were some people concerned about the Best Buy pre-order and then trading their phone in to Verizon for the promotion. I noticed this morning that once you log into My Verizon, select Trade In at the bottom and select your device being traded there will be a standard trade in value as well as a promotional trade in value listed, $480 for me. Pretty simple.
 
So how many people have had the Orchid grey for verizon ship from best buy already?

Mine shipped 9/5, ordered 8/25...departed Ohio 9/5 with no updates for over 24 hrs...still shows ontime for tomorrow (starting to doubt that it will be in SW Florida ontime)

Yikes, rough time to have a phone shipping down there I assume. Good luck on both counts. I don't understand how they decide where to ship these phones from.

Still on the fence if i should keep waiting for my Orchid grey to ship or cancel and order black, since my wifes black shipped yesterday. Well I have a tracking number, UPS doesn't seem to have it yet. And I'm in Ohio, so I am sure they will both ship from Florida or some place equally crazy.

Update: Guess I should have checked before I spoke, UPS does have hers, shipped from Ohio, so it should be here today.

I canceled a BB order yesterday in the mid morning, reordered with BB at 11 am yesterday, and the phone is arriving today. Verizon, midnight black.

Ordered 8/25 Online at BB VZW and it's on the truck. Will be here today. I'm also going to get to touch and get my picture taken with the actual Stanley Cup today.

This is a good day.
 
Talked to the 'back office' today. Supposedly they had several issues with several orders and they are working through them as quickly as possible so they can still meet the 9/15 delivery promise. They must be getting a lot of calls because they were rather short about the whole thing. Right now my order is in limbo and I can't cancel it and go directly through Verizon because now Verizon shows that I'm upgrading my phone so they can't do an order on it either!!! UGH!

If you are concerned you can cancel the order with best buy and that will put you back your upgrade with verizon. What did they say you issue was?
 
Ok, this is going to be a bit long, but here is the issue for some of us...I spoke to a Mobile Back Office customer service rep, in detail. She was VERY informative and helpful. Someone else mentioned this as well, I believe.

Those of us that have our order stuck on "In Progress" have an issue with Verizon of some sort. The process is this...BB electronically sends over the information for the phone/upgrade to Verizon. Verizon then validates the information and either accepts or rejects. If it rejects, they then send a code back to BB indicating the issue, and request resolution. BB has to manually make the correction, one account at a time, then resend the information, sometimes starting over from scratch. Sometimes they even need to call Verizon and discuss the issue verbally. What a ridiculously intensive process in such a technology driven company and society!!!! If you are stuck on "In Progress", most likely there is an issue that they are resolving. You can cancel the order, or let them take the time to resolve it...your call. BB may even call you for additional information, but if they can't fix the issue, they will cancel the order.

I've chosen to cancel, and go directly to Verizon. Sucks that I will be giving up the $150 savings, though.

They didn't. Asked for my mobile number, my name, and my Verizon PIN again and said it should be taken care of. She said at best a day, at most 5 days. I figure if they haven't resolved it by Friday I'm going to cancel and just go straight through Verizon.
 
Can anyone confirm if signature is required? Mine is out for delivery today and all it says from tracking number is "UPS Ground". I'm assuming it would say signature required somewhere on the website when I put in the tracking number but I don't see it. Just curious if anyone that has had delivered yet had to sign or if it was just left at front door. Thanks!! BTW - I ordered 2 days ago and it's already being delivered today. That is impressive!!!

Yeah..FYI that's pretty much what happened to me. I canceled and ordered from Verizon. Had the device in my hands 15 hours later
