Bionic 9/1 release date?

Well, if it is going to be 9/1 then I might try and look more into the Galaxy S2. If it doesn't have LTE then they are about on the same level to me. If it does have LTE, then it's much better anyway.

9/1 sounds reasonable. If Verizon is really going to have a marketing campaign (like the sign up page suggests) then it seems unlikely the phone would release in 2 weeks. Maybe 4 weeks but the campaign would have to start like today and Verizon has shown no signs other than a sign up page that even hints this phone is ready in 2 weeks. So I'm guessing mid August or later. Also this month timeframe from sign up to launch for.the thunderbolt, we need to realize already had commercials and advertisements out. Bionic still has nothing :/

I am still hoping that the release date of July 28th is closer to reality... But this is exactly why Moto has not given a release date for the revised device. Not sure how many of you are familiar with the game developer Blizzard. They are a mega giant dev group that has a release date of when its done. The one thing you know you are getting in the end is a game worth the 60-100 dollar price tag. It really seems to me that moto doesnt want to over promise again because of some of the reactions we are seeing here.

I agree that they are losing ground as to time goes on, but I still dont have a device on Verizon that meets my current wish list. The Bionic seems to still be my goto device. And hopefully they are adding lightsabre functionality to it.

Exactly. Kellex/DL doesn't spread bad info and if they are unsure about things they always add the grain of salt to their stories.

Secondly, as mentioned Winston said a while back the Bionic would release no less than a month AFTER the Droid 3. So this is not really anything new and shouldn't be a surprise.

If it isn't out til Sept ill probably just wait and see if the nexus comes to vzw since rumors are saying oct for that and that vzw is looking into it. Unless the bootloader is unlocked then I'd Get the bionic.

Just some food for thought. remember last week Droid life had a tweet about a "bionic billboard" now this week we have no sign of a billboard. I know it is a different person but this just proves that even droid life isn't above blowing smoke just to start a buzz. I take this with a grain of salt and suggest you should too

I'm to the point that if the dam thing drops it drops, I was able to lock in my unlimited so I am not too worried (yeah I am getting sick and tired of this POS Storm 2 but I will live, I have wifes D3 to toy with). This speculation and bickering is getting old. I bet this thing gets the same stealth launch treatment the D3 does so pretty much NO ONE but VZ knows when this thing goes out.

I think a thread on Yahoo Finance about rumors of the Bionic's delay would have a better chance of getting picked up by the Wall Street reporters and might force Motorola to release more information if the rumors prove to be false.

On a side note, some of the threads on Yahoo about MMI are pretty interesting - one person suggests MMI will eventually be bought by either Google or Dell and one of MMI's greatest assets is their portfolio of patents.
