I wish they make revision 3 with an unlocked bootloader. If they do that they can load all the bloat and blur they want because it will be easily rootable and have a huge developer following. Lets hope lol

Spent a year with motos locked bootloader. Yuck. I have tethered legit and roage..... Crickets. Paying for tethering on top of tierd data is foolish. Verizon is full of unwatered grass these days.

With_that_news Bionic owners should be pretty excited with the prospect. The backlash against Verizon will be epic if they block it.

I remember back 4-5 months ago when people were laughing at those who were supporting the efforts through the online petitions. I got tired of complaining about the locked bootloaders so I jumped on board. Better to at least do SOMETHING rather than complain on a forum right?

Well it's pretty awesome to see the community come together and be heard like we were. HTC heard us and now Motorola has. Cheers to those that supported the movement through the online pettions. Pretty awesome.

Anyway guys if all goes as planned (unlocking) you will have one heck of a device in the Motorola Bionic. Actually not one heck of a phone but an awesome phone. A little too early for celebration but it sure as heck looks pretty good.

dude, you is outs yo' freakin mind!!! i challenge you to identify one single thing that CK has said which has been proven to be false. it seems to me that your opinion is being colored by your myopia - you want the Bionic, and think it's going to be a monster device. even though no one has seen one or held one, that's fine - you're perfectly entitled to your opinion. but, to call someone else's contrary opinions and insight a "propagation of lies" is irresponsible and, frankly, juvenile.

if you would actually read what CK said in an objective manner, instead of defensively and looking for a reason to attack, you would see that CK has been a long-time fan of Moto devices. in fact, if you did your research, you would see that CK has had his eye on this device, with his hopes up, since rumors sprouted last year, and was actually hoping that Moto would come through with a revolutionary device that he could use for 2 years. but, now that almost a year has passed, and still no device, and specs that are, arguably, merely evolutionary and not revolutionary (and arguably, still, not keeping up with the pace of the competition), he is disappointed in Moto and has resigned to reluctantly go with another manufacturer's device.

quite frankly, i share in his disappointment, as i feel that (now that we have some concrete specs) the product they will release may not live up to the hype Moto, itself, has built. does this mean that i (or CK) think that the Bionic is going to be a "bad" phone?? no!! does it mean i have automatically written off the Bionic?? no. but, i do have concerns; and i believe they are valid, given the problems, delays, cancellation, etc. moreover, Moto's attitude and overall strategy has been off-putting to me.

after the OG, and the rumors of this type of phone surfaced, i was almost willing to blindly follow Moto and snatch up whatever it put out. not so much anymore. instead, i am going to be deliberate in any decision, and look critically at any and all devices. i think (and CK can correct me if i'm wrong) that's all CK is saying. based on his critical analysis of the available devices, for him the Bionic and Moto are somewhat of a disappointment. i agree. the webtop os is a little discouraging, although not as much for me as CK. also, after having used my father-in-law's X2, and seen the pentile screen, i'm not a huge fan. but, again, i'll reserve final judgment until i hold the device in my hand, and read what other's experiences have been.

in the meantime, this is not a Moto fan site - it's a discussion forum for all types of viewpoints and opinions...

Speaking only for myself and even in the event you weren't even referring to me, CK and my disagreements have not been attacks AND you are falsely stating the time line of this device. The damn thing was just announced at CES in January, not a year ago. I don't know how you do math but that's less than 6 months ago, and then it was announced for release in the second quarter. Guess what? Second quarter hasn't even ended yet. So don't be talking how late they are when we're now hearing August. Big freakin' whoop it's two months late and it is still revolutionary given the lapdock whether or not you like the implementation. And it still will have an entirely different set of incredible specs combined than anything else out yet.

Defend CK's opinions all you like, but I'll be damned if I waste any time researching a poster to see how honest he is. But I'm also not going to allow anyone to get away with inaccuracies like yours.

Ugh! Every time I hear the Bionic will need to release After the D3 I get car sick. To me the D3 is a dated design as shown, just an overgrown D1.

I'm going on record saying the D3 will be a sales flop.

FWIW, I know a lot people waiting on a physical keyboard Droid with kick butt specs. That's the Droid3 if you don't care about 4G. It's not even entirely out of my possibilities of choice.

Excuse me, but how is a mere mortal like myself to know that so many have heard tale of this phone long before it was even publicly announced? And you're talking about someone who religiously follows many of the most popular tech sites. Yes, I had heard of a dual core processor phone with possibly a gig of ram from Moto on the horizon before CES, but that was it. I don't think that should count as Moto making promises it couldn't keep, so to speak. And yet you are telling me that you knew nothing about this phone other than it was "a monster" a year ago and that should count towards your current disappoint and also give you a track record of justification, a badge of honor above reproach? O...kay. Anyway, that's how Husker read...to me. As if the phone was publicly announced a year ago.

And again, I disagree with these implications of "attacking." Am I passionate? Yes. Am I nasty. No. Do I name call? No. I don't like being painted or even being implied an attacker. That's simply unfair.
