Blackberry Storm to Thunderbolt... who else?

I think it is funny people actually liked the Storm 1. Wow with its memory issues I can load maybe one app if I am lucky and that was when it is brand new. I have had to replace it so many times my insurance will no longer allow me to replace. I have had no working camera for who knows how long. Honestly loved all my old BB 6750 7250 7750 8830 I think they all still work.

I've have a OG Storm from the Jan after the Nov launch. I've been wanting a new phone for a while, was going to get the Droid X at launch. Then saw a pic of the TBolt, and thought to myself, how long til that comes out? Maybe October, lol, and here I am, waiting....

Got the OG storm here too....pretty common from the sound of it...just waiting and waiting and waiting.....

Jeez, there seems to be a growing crowd in here. Maybe we should all attend meetings or something. We can call it P.W.C.P.W.F.T.T.B. People with crappy phones waiting for the ThunderBolt (or something a bit more catchy).

Storm1 here. Unlike many Storm owners, I still have my original Storm that I waited in line for on release day. What a waste on my time, looking back on it now...

Anyway, whenever I get my Bolt( or new phone for that matter ), this Storm is getting introduced to my Barrett Model 99. I cannot wait to blow this POS phone apart!

Storm 1 here since Dec 2008. Anybody else worried about getting another phone with a weather related name. hope it's not a curse.

Nah, I think it's just a BlackBerry thing. I think RIM tried to jump into the mass consumer market way too quickly and unfortunately for them it looks like it'll hurt them a lot. I mean there are a ton of Storm users ready to leave Blackberry and from the looks of the current phones that RIM has coming, a lot of people probably won't go back to BlackBerry.

Still on my original Storm 1, had for about 2 years, 3 mos now. If the pricing plans still allow me an unlimited for $30 I will get this phone. Otherwise, I don't see myself justifying a more expensive data plan for faster speeds. I just want a phone that works great, and actually has apps that I can download for FREE!!! Angry Farm anyone! A ridiculous $5 for that, when its cheaper on Android. Every company feels they can screw people w/ a BB cause they 'have more $$$, can afford expensive apps'

I had the same, Pearl, S1 and S2. I had great luck with my S1 never had a problem with it (except ****ty software til 5.0). I had to replace my S2 once due to faulty click screen a few months ago. I just think that Blackberry has missed the boat on hardware, they have an awesome base but continuously fall below the bar on HW... I too wish that Verizon would get off their collective A$$ and release the TB already!

Storm 2 here, storm 1 originally (water damage). been a faithful blackberry user for several years - back to the tank like 8703e. Storm 2 works rather well for me, but my 2 years is up and RIM has not even tried to keep up, pretty much stuck to VZW because everything else in my area is pretty unreliable. I too had seen the TBolt when it was first leaked as the Mecha and said "that's the one". Now if they would just clear it for launch, i'd be a happy guy...

Is there a guide available for us storm users to prepare for the switch from BB to Android? Anything we should back up that can be transferred to the Bolt? How do we sync contacts? Do we load our storm backup to the TB or must we do everything through google? sorry im a noob

you can backup contacts either via backup assistant (download from bb app world and on the TB download from the market and you're all set) or via google sync

Yep same here. Storm 2 (6th handset) and can't wait till the TB comes out. I'm looking forward to the faster harddrive, RAM and just being able to do more with the phone.

I got a Storm in '09. I went from a Motorola RAZR to a Blackberry and I was super stoked on the Storm. After awhile a lot of people i know picked up Android phones and I realized what a POS my Storm was. Going from my Storm to TB was as big as jump as when I switched from my RAZR to BB as far as i'm concerned. First post! Booyah! haha

I had the Storm1 and Storm2, and I can honestly say that both served me well enough. However, once I jumped to the TB, I realized all that I had been missing. The S1 AND S2 were fine devices, IMO, but the TB is in a completely diferent class.[IMGLEFT][/IMGLEFT]
