Sorry for the noob question, to flash the modem on odin, is it just the .tar file? The screen capture on bonsai's website showed a .pit file in odin. Thanks.

If you download odin from bonsai's site, it includes the pit file to flash the modem.

Well, I've been on this ROM since the middle of last week and have to say it's fantastic... I am running setcpu at 200-1000, and over the weekend flashed Hero's 1.2low kernel on top of this ROM... my battery life has gone from pretty good on stock Bonsai 4.0 to outrageous... I have two push email accounts, and do phone calls and text messages over the course of a normal day, with the occasional tinkering on the phone... never got more than 14-16hrs real world use on any ROM/kernel combination... on Bonsai 4.0 with Hero's kernel, I ran from 7:15am yesterday to 11:30pm, and still had 39% battery left... I can see the differences... the phone charges to 100% and actually holds there off the charger... and the latent battery bleed is down to a trickle... kudos to both the chefs...

Yet some people (they know who they are) still seem to think Hero_Over (Baked Snack) is a fake or rip off and doesn't know what hes doing... Judging from his kernel skills, this guy knows how to roll a kernel.

no way, Hero knows his **** for sure... His ROMs are pretty good, though I found the latest 2.2 release very unstable, at least for me, which is how I landed on Bonsai... and Hero's kernels are the best I've ever used, either on eclair or froyo... he does coding and battery mods that many others are not capable of...

actually no, there is a lot of people who think he has skills, it was more of the whole gpl violation on why he was banned from xda. no doubt about it, his kernels do have some nice speed and battery but it was the matter of using others code and claiming it as his own... but anyways thats all way back when :)

I respect both ends of the spectrum for their skills and what they have brought to the table. So excuse my comment, it was not meant to start anything here at Android Central. I am completely neutral and don't support any developer more than the other and my views and comments are my own and not of Android Central. :)

Do I need to wipe Cache before loading this ROM or can I just flash over my current ROM? I am on TrulyEpic v1.4 w/EXT with CWM 3.0.0.5.

Can someone post a link to this kernal? I can't find it in the forums. I have been running Bonsai 4.0 and am very happy with it but would love to increase battery life.

This hasn't been publicly released yet. Currently its members only to BakedSnackShack.com that have access to these kernels found in BakedSnack v2.2

I just switched to Bonsai 4.0 with Hero_Overs 1.28 lowest kernal (1.28max-200min conservative). They work well together and so far I'm liking the Bonsai ROM, very smooth and polished. I think I'm going to stay on this one for awhile.

Hi, I'm on Bonsai 4.0 on my Epic and so far it's been terrific. But I do notice that when I slide my keyboard out on my app list, the bottom of the page cuts off. Is there any tips to fix that?

Something went wrong when I flashed. Everything looks ok, but the basband says DK28!

Before flashing I wiped cache...
I was running v1.4 TrulyEpic EXT4 w CWM 3.0.0.5

What sis I miss?

What launcher are you using?

Flash EC05 modem.

I tried flashing the modem and it fails.

Do I need to flash Bonsai v3.0.1, then v4.0 and then the modem?

My previous ROM was based on DK28 and I am guessing that is the problem..

UPDATE:
Got it fixed! Used Odin to get EB13 with EXT4 and CWM 3.0.0.6 and then upgraded to Bonsai v4.0!!!

I just pulled out my keyboard and notice that the bottom row of icons when in horizontal mode only show half the icon, but that's more a factor of how many app icons I have in the drawer, as opposed to an issue with the launcher or the ROM... I am on LauncherPro Plus... if you thumb up you see the entire icon that initially looks cut off on the bottom... it all looks and functions normally for me...

As another suggested, you can download his 2.1 ROM and extract, but posting the other kernels before he has released them to the public would be a breach of protocol unfortunately... his forum membership is only $5 and totally worth it for earlier access to the kernels... I know it rubs some the wrong way that the newest releases are initially shareware before becoming available to the general public, but it is what it is... BS kernel on the Bonsai ROM rocks... not that the Bonsai kernel was bad, I actually had decent battery life with it, but I wanted to try out the BS one, and once I flashed it, had no way to go back to Bonsai's kernel since it's embedded in the ROM...
