I have a Huawei Mate 10 pro and have been using it for about 9 months.
I used to have amazing battery life with close to 8-9 hours of SOT ( and still had like 20% remaining never really went too low).

Recently I have been getting a battery drain of over 20% per night even if the phone is in doze mode.
I tried every method of finding out the battery drain and could not find it, assuming its a system bug i reset the phone but it did not fix anything.

I have wifi scanning and data always on turned off , so it disconnects mobile data and wifi if the phone is not being used.
I have just factory reset my phone and am posting screenshots of all my battery monitoring.

Please help me identify what is causing this battery drain.

Your Huawei phone has broken. This is my insightful conclusion.
I hear that they were no longer going to get updates anyway, so maybe time for a new phone. I saw galaxy S8 for around 200 s&d on Amazon. Good luck.

Fresh factory reset. No default apps updated.
Only GSAM installed.

Again same issue:

This might be something worth looking into, which I have just noticed
The phone was just kept on the table but still, I can see significant motion sensor is being used pretty high:

Factory reset wont do anything if it's a firmware problem, only flashing same firmware will like b.diddy says .

Have you tried the battery save mode ?
Looks like the mode your using is not aggressive enough.

yeah tried the batter saving mode. no effect.

The phone was working brilliantly until a couple of months ago. I don't see how it can have any hardware problems.

30min of significant motion, with the phone motionless on a table? That suggests a serious hardware or software fault.
Can you gain access to the Service Menu to test the relevant sensors? It may be via *#0*# on the keypad.

I can't access that menu but I have checked the sensors using a different app and they all seem to be responding.

Anything possible , can get corrupt the software , for example I had my note 9 USB was not charging or reading when hook to computer , I tried factory reset same , since it's still under warranty I contacted Samsung to make a ticket send in and fix , but at one point I seen through the computer it was reading the phone , I jumped on the opportunity to flash the stock firmware again and boom everything works . I think something happened in the software driver for USB maybe got corrupted but thankfully the moment I seen connection I jump right away to flash it .

That video I sent you because I dont have a Huawei phone to know what's installed but got a ideal from that video , check those settings that guy mentioned might be something helpful there.

Yeah, I was already aware of those things. They are just a few tips to 'increase' battery life they aren't going to fix a drain.

My battery life was insanely good it still is, everything is good apart from this drain.
I used to get 1 hour of SOT for every 10% used, now it's the same but I have a constant 30-40% of unknown drain added.

If you can can you put data to 3g and monitor drain overnight doess it have option instead of 4g LTE?

yeah, I did try swapping GSM/CDMA/LTE networks.

but the thing is that phone radio isn't really the drain, it's just showing it over there.
The drain happens when I remove the sim too as I have shown above.

Yes your right , forgot about that .
Still trying help you figure this out , just incase are you comfortable with installing the firmware again on your phone not saying now but as a possible last resort?

The phones bootloader is locked so I cannot install any custom ROMs, but I did do the recovery and reinstall the software update (not the add-on files, the entire 4.5gb update).
Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to go back to an older version so I installed the latest version which I already had again.

I'm going to test it tonight again otherwise tomorrow I will contact Huawei customer support and look to get a replacement or a fix since it's still in warranty

Yeah that's a factory reset , I didn't mean install custom ROM , meant install the same software version file like Samsung you can flash stock firmware in Odin. But like you said still have warranty so see what happens.

So after all the resets the breakdown of stats still show phone radio as the maximum on idle.

but the idle drain is down to about 1% per hour, which I suppose I could learn to live with.
I have been running it only on mobile data, going to apply wifi next and test today.

I do remember when I first got the phone, the battery life skyrocketed after a few days of usage, due to the neural processing unit optimizing the phone according to my usage. So things might improve.

This is the problem you need to id. Why would it be so high? You say and show full bars. Problem gone with airplane mode. You should try Safe Mode. Though you say you only dl 2 apps, the phone app is a pre-installed dialer from Huawei, so if you don't want to go to Safe mode, force stop your phone app, then check your battery usage. Good luck
Did you ever Force Stop your phone dialer? Huawei is 'phoning home'. Disable it, clear its cache and force stop it.

None of your posts or screenshots indicate that you have done so. On the contrary, they all show you using it.
Until this reply from you. And either it does or does not turn off the radio, it wouldn't have "seemed to".

Like I have mentioned the drain happens even if I take out the sim and repeated testing has shown that its a drain on the wifi or phone network. I seem to think its some process using those networks it's just being reported on gsam as wifi/phone radio drain. It's not identifying the process.

I did, it seemed to have no effect.

So, you didn't. After you said you did.
Taking out the sim? We're not even on the same page.
You obviously have the answer within you, so I will keep my silly advice to myself. Good luck

The reason I mention taking out sim is to effectively turn off the mobile radio. Far better test that just disabling one app.
