Can't set Google Now Launcher default!

Can't set Google Now Launcher default! It's not even on the 'Home' menu to set it as default and when in keep pressing the app icon it's keeps saying "Nova Launcher is currently your default Launcher. To try the Google Now Launcher,set it from settings>home" this dialogue box keeps popping up! And there's no Google Now Launcher in home option.. I've tried everything. Even disabling all my launchers. And then I try to open Google Now Launcher it says "Google now launcher has stopped working".need a solution. Wanna use Google Now! TIA I'm running CM 12.1

Open system settings > applications > Nova Launcher. Select clear defaults and see if that allows you to choose Google Now.
